Although Boruto has many weaknesses compared to Naruto, the new generation also offers some good stuff to the shinobi world. One of the better things about Boruto is the expanded focus on each character, not just focusing on the character who is the leader of a team. The fellow ninja who are in a team are also further explored, such as Chocho Akimichi who we will discuss.
In Boruto, the story often gives us a glimpse into the lives of the side characters. For example, many episodes explore more about Chocho Akimichi, the daughter of Chouji Akimichi and his wife from Kumogakure named Karui. Chocho is a female ninja or kunoichi with a cheerful character who happens to be one of the bright spots of Boruto. Both in her attitude and in the comedic elements she gives, Chocho makes the story more colorful.
Are you curious about this kunoichi named Chocho Akimichi? Let's look at the 10 facts about Chocho, the daughter of Choji Akimichi who is a foodie like her father!
1. Learned Lightning Release Jutsu Typical of Kumo
Most of the younger generation of ninja in Boruto generally have advantages that are passed down from both sides of their family. This makes them more knowledgeable ninjas and hopefully will one day surpass their parents. In the case of Chocho Akimichi, of course she is a master of partial expansion jutsu, which allows her to transform various parts of her body into larger ones.
Keep in mind that Chocho's mother, Karui, is from Kumogakure. Like all the ninja from Kumo, Chocho has learned how to perform lightning release jutsu. Too bad Chocho is a side character, so her lightning-elemental jutsu is not as great as Chidori's. Even so, with Chocho's lightning release talent, it would be good if she learned how to use Chidori with Sarada.
2. Masters Akimichi’s Butterfly Mode
Although Chocho Akimichi isn't as passionate as Sarada when it comes to being a ninja, that doesn't mean she doesn't have Ninjutsu talent. On the other hand, Chocho can use the Akimichi clan's Butterfly Mode without having to use the colored pills from the Akimichi clan.
This technique converts all the excess calories of the body into chakra that can help with size expansion techniques. Chocho can use this mode through her calorie control, which actually reduces her overall strength but allows her to use Butterfly Mode for longer. This mode is also useful for undercover missions, as Chocho looks like a slim and seductive woman who is completely different from her real form.
3. The Most Powerful Shinobi in Her Group
Although Chocho Akimichi can act strange and easily distracted by handsome young men or the latest flavored potato chips, she is also relied on as the main offensive in her team. This is due to Shikadai who is the group’s strategist, and Inojin relied on long-range attacks through the animals he painted.
Chocho, with her partial expansion Jutsu, is often used as a powerful frontline fighter. This makes her a vital team member in every battle.
4. Was Close To A Famous Actor Named Tomaru
During the arc that really focuses on Chocho Akimichi, we get to see Team 7 and Team 10 paired up together for a mission. Team 10 was assigned to look after the famous actor named Tomaru. As usual when Chocho meets attractive looking young men, she will easily fall in love at the first sight.
In the large portion of the arc, Chocho tries to use Butterfly Mode to stay slim, to attract Tomaru's attention. But after hearing Mitsuki's talk and realizing that Tomaru wasn't originally interested in the real Chocho, she changed her mind. Until Chocho saves Tomaru's life several times and makes the handsome actor fall in love with her. Chocho finally realizes that she deserves an even better man than Tomaru which she must first convince to like him.
5. Was Transformed Into a Stone Statue
In the arc where Mitsuki leaves the village and is considered a traitor, Team 7 and Team 10 collaborate and attempt to bring back Mitsuki who is their classmate and villager. This story becomes a fairly long arc where they are forced to go on an adventure to the Hidden Stone Village.
During their exploration, the group encounters the White Snake Sage, who informs them that they must defeat Garaga. A giant snake named Garaga must be fought to get information about Mitsuki's whereabouts. Their fight against Garaga goes very badly, because they know that Garaga has the ability to turn people to stone if hit by his spit. Chocho was transformed into a stone statue because of Garaga's spit. Luckily Boruto managed to persuade Garaga to work with them, and Chocho was successfully restored again.

6. She Once Wished For Someone Else to be Her Parents
Compared to several other characters in Boruto, Chocho Akimichi always has a fairly high imagination. During one of the arcs, Chocho admits to Sarada and Mitsuki that she always thought she wanted to have completely different parents instead of Choji and Karui.
Many of the reasons for Chocho's assumptions stem from the experiences she had when she was young. At that time Choji had to use a special calorie control technique to get slim in order to get medicine to cure Chocho who was sick. Since Chocho doesn't recognize him, she assumes the slim Choji is her biological father with a different identity.
7. Easily Falls in Love with Handsome Characters
It can be said that a Chocho Akimichi has high confidence. Even though we've seen her struggles with trying to lose weight, she's often confident enough to believe that every handsome boy she meets is bound to fall in love with her.
Of course, the reality is the other way around, as Chocho usually has a crush on any good-looking guy she meets, and often those feelings go unrequited. Like when Chocho met Kawaki at the Taiyaki shop, it was Chocho who immediately had a crush on her but Kawaki remained indifferent to her.
8. Carries Potato Chips for Snacking Everywhere She Goes
The author has released a lot of character trivia about the next generation of ninja in Boruto. What we know about Chocho is that her hobbies are eating and watching TV. It is said that her favorite food is anything that can be eaten.
We often see Chocho carry at least one bag of potato chips with her, and she's constantly trying her new kind of sara chips.
9. Sarada Uchiha’s Best Friend
The Naruto universe is about the value of friendship. Continuing the value of the story, all the children in Boruto have developed friendships even outside their group.
Boruto hangs out with Shikadai and Mitsuki, Iwabe is close friends with Denki, and Chocho's best friendship with Sarada. The two of them are very good friends because they always complement each other. Chocho balances Sarada's overly serious behavior and Sarada helps Chocho to be realistic at all times.
10. Be a Part of the Hereditary Team and Formation Named InoShikaCho
Chocho Akimichi is part of Team 10, which also consists of Inojin Yamanaka (son of Ino Yamanaka and Sai) and Shikadai Nara (son of Shikamaru Nara and Temari). Fans of the Naruto universe this is noteworthy because it is part of the hereditary tradition of 3 ninja clans known as the InoShikaCho formation.
This group is a trio of ninja whose powers specifically complement each other. They have many unique techniques that can work together to make them very effective in combat. Chocho's group happened to be the seventeenth generation of this ninja group, and the three of them had been training together since the time before they attended the Shinobi Academy.
