DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is pretty difficult to explain due to the irregular storyline and different variation of stories that might intimidate newcomers who intend to have a taste of the series, though perhaps the tip of the iceberg is the list of villains that are all over the place, from the regular humans with no superpower to the most powerful ones with superpowers beyond comprehension like Doomsday.

While there is a lot more to learn in order to get closer to your preferred characters and storylines within the DC universe, this time Dunia Games is going to discuss Doomsday facts, a universally prominent villain in the series that’s not only considered the strongest villain but also the one who gives even Superman a legit nightmare.

10. Doomsday’s Origin

Doomsday’s origin is portrayed within the DC universe in a very unique way, in that he was born long before humanity or even the dinosaurs existed as an experiment created by an alien scientist named Bertron, a mad scientist who conducted numerous experiments toward any living creature by using his cloning technology to create a powerful being right from the start.

Throughout the experiments, Bertron threw away numerous babies to the Krypton planet environment in order to obtain a powerful and immortal baby until Doomsday was finally born.

9. Doomsday Has Died Countless Times

During the time Bertron conducted experiments toward Doomsday, he had killed Doomsday countless times and revived him through the numerous clones. As a result, Doomsday has lived through numerous deaths in his life to the point of being fearless toward death, making him a creature who lacks empathy and a very brutal villain ready to murder anyone.

8. Has Long History With Darkseid

Doomsday has a rather long and dark history with one of the most feared villains in the DC universe as well as his nemesis, Darkseid. After Doomsday destroyed Darkseid’s planet and wiped out every last bit of the planet, Darkseid vows to exact his vengeance by dueling him one-on-one. However, this turns out to become a one-sided duel as Doomsday is seemingly too powerful for Darkseid that even his most powerful technique, Omega Beam doesn’t harm Doomsday a bit.

7. Has Murdered Millions of Lives (Including the Green Lanterns)

Years before Superman defeated Doomsday on Earth, the villain has traveled across numerous planets in space and caused mayhem along the way, even going as far as murdering millions of lives he encountered there. What makes it very disturbing is that Doomsday does all of that with no real purpose in mind, as in he doesn’t even think about it with his mind.

6. Doomsday Defeats Justice League With One Hand Tied on His Back

The prospect of the entire Justice League being defeated by Doomsday whose hand is tied on his back by Calatonians is very absurd, but he really does it. After being freed from his metal prison capsule and crash landing on Earth, Doomsday almost effortlessly defeats the Justice League.

5. Earned His Nickname From Lex Luthor

There are two different interpretations about the origin of Doomsday’s name itself. While Lex Luthor in the movie gives him the name Doomsday due to his immense strength, the DC comic series explains that Superman gives him the nickname during the fight between Doomsday and the Justice League, all while contemplating how the literal doomsday has come the moment this dangerous villain threatens them. Thus, Doomsday’s name comes from the fact that his arrival equals a literal doomsday.

4. Superman’s Nightmare

Just like how Joker becomes Batman’s nightmare, Doomsday also becomes Superman’s nightmare due to the absurd amount of strength the villain packs. There’s one scene where Superman is slowly losing his mind and turning paranoid as he becomes too cautious and afraid of Doomsday, always fearing that he might appear anywhere and any time.

3. The Smarter Doomsday Is, The Easier Superman Beats Him

As previously stated, Doomsday frequently does things without using his mind a.k.a. Rather apathetic and dumb, although his lack of thinking is exactly his source of power and destruction. Once Lex Luthor unlocks Doomsday’s true nature, he becomes extremely smart to a fault as he also gains the knowledge of pain, anxiety, empathy and suffering. This results in an opening for Superman to beat the seemingly perfect villain as he grows weaker due to the knowledge.

2. Once Teamed Up With Marvel’s Dr. Doom

Marvel and DC collabed very frequently in the 90s by doing crossovers between their characters like Superman meeting Spider-Man, Carnage meeting Joker and the Avengers teaming up with the Justice League. This also applies on the villain side as Doomsday teams up with Dr. Doom due to their similar name, even going as far as sharing his power with Dr. Doom to create a team of supervillains.

1. Superman Becomes Doomsday?

During the New 52 Universe event in the DC comic, Doomsday is infected with an extremely dangerous virus that can instantly kill everyone within a 100-meter radius around him, forcing Superman to move him to Venus in an attempt to finish him off with high temperature. Alas, this doesn’t work and Superman still has to face Doomsday on Earth.

The moment Superman crushes him to ashes, he inhales Doomsday’s ashes and becomes possessed by the virus which causes him to change his appearance and behavior to become like Doomsday

And that’s it for Doomsday facts, a supervillain and one of the worst nightmares for Superman.. Stick around for more gaming information and make sure to follow Dunia Games on Facebook and Instagram for the latest update!
