Born in Bandar Lampung

Rendy Rangers, real name Cahyo Rendy Wicaksono, was born in Bandar Lampung, January 16, 1994. He is the youngest of 3 children, who are all of his siblings are boys. Rendy studied at SD Negeri 1 Sukarame, SMP Negeri 12 Bandar Lampung, SMA 3 Al-Azhar, and majoring in Informatics Engineering at IBI Darmajaya Bandar Lampung.

Once an Internet Cafe Kid

Rendy has been interested in computers since the 2nd grade of elementary school since Rendy's parents bought a computer for her brother to be precise. Since he was young, Rendy is known as a strict child with his allowance and rarely bought snacks at the cafeteria, as he preferred to save his allowance to play at Timezone.

To get more money, he sold the PlayStation 1 discs to his friends for one thousand rupiahs. But even though he likes playing games, he still excelled in his class and always gets the top three. When he was in junior high school, Rendy started playing online games at an internet cafe after school, but he did not continue this hobby due to the expensive cost.

At that time, his allowance was only around 2-3 thousand rupiah, while his friends always bought the plan for 10 thousand rupiahs. As a result, Rendy could only play at the internet cafe once a week and spent more time watching his friends play.

The first online games he played at the internet cafe were Seal Online, Audition AyoDance, and Perfect World. However, to save even more, he preferred to play offline PC games at home, especially Solitaire games.

Once a Radio Announcer

Since he was young, Rendy has been known as a hard worker. To avoid getting money from his parents, he chose to go to college during the night hours so that he could work during the day time.

Before becoming a YouTuber, Rendy was a local radio broadcaster in Bandar Lampung, namely Andalas Radio FM, Beoli FM, and Rajawali FM. Rendy once worked at a merchandise shop, distributed flyers, and a salesman of a starter card.

Once Had a Serious Accident

When he was 21 years old, Rendy was involved in a serious accident. He, who was driving his motorcycle, was hit by a truck from the opposite direction that was trying to overtake the car in front of him. He collapsed immediately and was rushed to the hospital.

As a result of the accident, Rendy had to focus on his recovery and could not work hard. He also admitted that he had been traumatized for some time, which made him unable to cross the street.

The Origins of “Rendy Rangers”

In 2017, Rendy decided to enter YouTube. He mentioned Tara Arts as an inspiration. Initially, Rendy's channel was named "Gudang Review" which he filled with review videos of various items.

For the first content, he spent around 750 thousand rupiahs to buy and review a microphone. However, the concept did not go as planned. He ran out of ideas and was confused about what else to review.

In the end, he decided to create Free Fire content and changed his channel name to "Rendy Rangers". The name "Rendy" is taken from his real name, while "Rangers" is inspired by the name of The Changcuters fan club, "Changcut Rangers", which he has been idolizing since middle school.

Up All Night for Free Quota

Rendy's intention to become a YouTuber was not half-hearted. He was willing to use his savings of 5 months to buy his ideal PC for 8 million rupiahs to create content.

Rendy had to stay up all night to get a free quota, which only applied from 1 am to 4 am to live stream Free Fire. From this live stream, he got 7 new subscribers in his first week.

Was Not Supported by His Parents

Becoming a YouTuber, Rendy had to deal with many challenges. He admits that his toughest challenge is that he was not supported by anyone, including his parents.

There’s no guarantee that becoming a YouTuber could be successful, Rendy didn’t complain and keep on creating content. This is because he is happy to be able to channel his hobby of playing games as well as having fun when making videos.

An Avid Anime Fan

His love for anime is no longer a secret, just take a look at the logo of his YouTube banner.

Before focusing on Free Fire, Rendy also made several anime-related contents such as Captain Tsubasa Dream Team, Summon Gate Lost Memories, to Sword Art Online Integral Factor.

He once uploaded a strange video entitled "Time-Stopping Technique" which was inspired by Naruto.

Got His First Adsense in 2018

Rendy's hard work finally paid off. His Free Fire video tutorial entitled "Tips and Trick Free Fire 99% Booyah!" reached 10 thousand views in just 1 week. This is where Rendy's YouTube channel finally grew.

Unfortunately, at that time his YouTube channel still couldn't make money even though it met the requirements. After 8 months of being active on YouTube, he got his first Adsense in early August 2018.

Now Has More Than 7,7 Million Subscribers

Towards the end of 2018, Rendy managed to have 100 thousand subscribers. Shortly after, he also got 1 million subscribers at the beginning of 2019. Thanks to the Rangers Squad’s support, Rendy Rangers’ channel now has more than 7.7 million subscribers and continues to grow.

His success has allowed him to buy various gaming equipment that he has always wanted, such as PC Gaming, PlayStation 4, to Nintendo Switch. Not forget ting important figures who raised him, Rendy bought a new car for his parents.

From Youtube and also Free Fire, Rendy has many friends like Rizalmuk, Papa Limite, and Jilly. Thanks to his skill in playing Free Fire, Rendy was able to join Alter Ego Esports.
