1. Holds the Power of the Armored Titan
As mentioned above, Reiner Braun is the current inheritor of the Armored Titan. Reiner possesses the ability to turn into a 15 meters tall Titan with hardened skin. He utilized this power to breach Wall Maria continues to use it after revealing his true identity and goals to Eren. Using his consciousness, he can use his combat skills to deal with other inheritors of Titan powers like Eren, and the armor-like skin he has in his Titan form gives him an edge over his opponents.
The Armored Titan comes with so many powers, including incredible speed and tremendous strength. His skin-hardening ability makes the Armored Titan one of the most formidable of the Nine Titans.
2. There’s a Hint That He’s the Armored Titan Earlier in the Series
Some of us might have never seen that Reiner and Bertholdt were the Armored and Colossal Titans before it was revealed. However, in the earlier episodes, when Eren, Armin, and Mikasa were talking about the Armored Titan, Reiner was so invested in listening to their story.
3. Became a Warrior for His Family
Due to the discriminatory treatments he received as an Eldian in Marley, Reiner’s family had high hopes of him becoming a Warrior so that they could be honorary Marleyans. During his childhood, Reiner had never known his father as he’s a Marleyan, meaning that having a child with his mother (an Eldian) is frowned upon.
Regardless of the hardships he has to deal with, Reiner still fights for his mother and family to get them out of the discriminative treatments by becoming a Marleyan Warrior.
4. He Cares About the Soldiers on Paradis
Despite the fact that he initially thought that the people on Paradis Island are evil and him murdering so many soldiers on the island, Reiner developed a camaraderie towards the other trainees.
After realizing that the people on Paradis Island are nothing like he thought, Reiner had his perspective towards them gradually shifted and tried to understand them, working together to face bigger threats, at least before he revealed his true identity.
5. He Wasn’t Supposed to Go to Paradis
Marley sent four Warriors in its first mission to reclaim the Founding Titan to Paradis and track down the inheritor. These Warriors were Bertholdt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, Marcel Galliard, and Reiner Braun.
Originally, it was Porco who was supposed to be in the team as the Armored Titan, but Marcel persuaded the military to give the Armored Titan powers to Reiner in order to save his little brother. After knowing the truth, Reiner tried everything he could to prove that he’s worthy of serving Marley.

Since then, Eren began to realize that he actually shares some similarities to Reiner, the only difference being them fighting on the other side of the war.
