Todoroki Shoto is one of the most popular characters in the My Hero Academia. Besides being liked by girls because of his good looks, Todoroki also has a unique Quirk that can make him use two elements to fight. 1. His Name Means Burn and Freeze
One of the things you may don't know about Todoroki Shoto is his name. The name Shoto comes from "sho" (burn) and "to" (freeze). If combined, then Shoto will mean burn and freeze, like the two Quirks he has.
2. Loves Cold Soba
Another fact about Todoroki Shoto that few people know about is his fondness for cold soba. This fact is never explained in the story, but we can see it from Todoroki's character profile shown in the second manga volume. In each episode of the anime, we can also see the profiles of other My Hero Academia characters.
3. His Character Design
Before My Hero Academia was determined with a school theme, there were 3 characters that had been designed by the author, Kohei Horikoshi. They were Midoriya Izuku, Uraraka Ochaco, and Katsuki Bakugo.
After Horikoshi decided on the theme of My Hero Academia, then he made designs for the other characters who would be in class 1-A, including Todoroki.
4. Sports Festival Champion
In the U.A. Sports Festival arc, each student competes to show who is the best among them. The competition is judged individually so students from the same class can compete.
At this festival, Todoroki receives the most votes from the audience because of his outstanding performance. In his fight against Midoriya, for the first time, Todoroki uses the fire Quirk he inherited from his father, Endeavor.
5. Excel in Written Test

6. No Need to Participate in U.A Entrance Exam
Due to his Quirks and recommendation letter by the number 2 hero (at the time), Endeavor, Todoroki managed to pass without taking the U.A. entrance exam. Even though strong or geniuses students need to take this test to be accepted at U.A.
This was thanks to the hard training Endeavor had given Todoroki. He hoped that his son could surpass All Might one day. Despite his effort, Endeavor regretted his actions because he had gone too far, and he even lost one of his children who was treated like Todoroki.
7. Having a PTSD
Todoroki has experienced PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder. Since childhood, he has experienced violence from his father who forced him to train hard. As a result, Todoroki's mother had a mental disorder until she accidentally injured Todoroki's face.
Since then Todoroki hates his father, as does his older brother, Natsuo. His mother wouldn't have had such a mental breakdown if it weren't for his father. As for now, Todoroki had forgiven Endeavor. Endeavor intends to atone for his sins by living apart from his family.

If you pay attention, Todoroki is not a talkative and cheerful teenager. Even though he used to be a child who often smiled and was cheerful, this is due to the harsh treatment by his father who kept forcing him to practice.
