Mushin practitioners also experience a change in their demeanors, becoming calmer, just like what Goku experiences when using this power.

2. Requires Intense Control of the User’s Emotions

Most Super Saiyan transformations have been linked to emotion. However, it’s a different case for Goku to trigger his Ultra Instinct.

One of the reasons for Goku’s achievement of Ultra Instinct has probably been an accident, as he was first achieved the technique when he’s in extreme danger -- allowing him to control his emotions and reach Ultra Instinct.

3. The Angels Have Already Mastered It

Considering how powerful Whis and other Angels are, it’s possible that they’ve already mastered the Ultra Instinct, which distinguished themselves from every other being in their universe. Even Merus, who’s still in training had also shown an advanced level of proficiency with Ultra Instinct.

4. It Comes with Fatal Consequences

Ultra Instinct does grant an incredible amount of powers to its users, yet it comes with deadly risks. Similar to Kaio Ken and Super Saiyan Blue, the use of Ultra Instinct puts extreme physical stress on its users.

This has been shown when the Ultra Instinct caused Goku’s Ki to turn black, causing him to lose his consciousness. Whis later revealed that the state might lead to the user’s death.

6. Gives Goku a New Form of Kamehameha

Kamehameha has become a signature move for Goku since earlier in the series, and we’ve seen how Goku has been improving his techniques from time to time. Ultra Instinct also gave him a new power -- Divine Kamehameha, which he used during the Tournament of Power.

This form of Kamehameha helped him defeat Kefla with ease. It’s even more powerful than Goku’s God Kamehameha. Even though Goku used the Divine Kamehameha while his Ultra Instinct wasn’t perfect, he managed to create a devastating blast.

7. There’s a Limit to Its Duration

Ultra Instinct may look like it doesn’t have any weakness when Goku uses it. However, a mortal like Goku has to deal with a serious risk every time they use this technique. After using the Ultra Instinct multiple times, Goku’s body began to break down, which indicates that he still needs more training before he can use the technique for a longer duration.

8. Any Race Can Use It

Usually, in this series, transformations are exclusive to certain races, for example, Saiyans are the only beings that are able to use Super Saiyan. As for Ultra Instinct, any being of any race can master it, whether they’re an Angel like Whis, a God of Destruction like Beerus, or even a mortal human like Krillin could master this technique.

9. Goku’s the Only Mortal Who’s Mastered the Technique

Goku is the only known mortal who has mastered Ultra Instinct and used it. Even a mightily powerful being like Jiren could pull off this technique.

10. The Pinnacle of Goku’s Martial Arts Training

It’s been mentioned in the manga that this technique is the culmination of Goku’s martial arts training. King Kai has helped him shape his spirit and body. Whereas Kami and Mr. Popo worked on honing his calmness during battle, while Korin focused on eliminating any excessive movements that he’d make. 

The help Goku got from them has helped him master Ultra Instinct better than Vegeta, who’s actually equally strong -- yet he doesn’t have the teachers that Goku had.
