On 17 August 2020, Indonesia will celebrate its 75th independence day. This is only possible because our national heroes fight to drive away the invaders. Even after our independence, the oppression still happens in various forms until today. We have to open our eyes and fight for the cause that our national heroes are fighting for.

1. Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront: The Revolution is developed by Deep Silver and the game is about the insurgent forces who fight against KPAID (North Korea) that invaded Philadelphia. The game’s graphic is good for an open-world shooter game. In this game, you can see how the insurgents are fighting the KPAID using any means.

2. Assassin's Creed III dan Liberation

Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation are the best Assassin’s Creed games released by Ubisoft. Besides the awesome gameplay and visual, the plot of the game is great to follow. The game itself is set during the American Revolution, where you will try to eliminate the Templar during the time of war.

3. Far Cry 4

Far Cry has always been the game with stunning and exotic scenery as its main attraction point. In Far Cry 4, you will play as Ajay Ghale. He is a native Himalayans that lives in America and moves back to Kyrat for his mother. There’s an on-going civil war on his homeland and it is caused by Pagan Min. He then decided to join the Golden Path to liberate his homeland.

4. Ghost Recon Wildlands

Ghost Recon Wildlands is the biggest open-world game ever created by Ubisoft, with dozens of playing arena such as the mountains, the jungles, desert, to salt mines. The story begins in Bolivia, where according to a message from the future, the country is going to turn into a narco-state - the biggest cocaine producer in the world since the Santa Blanca cartel.

5. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an FPS game released by Bethesda Softworks. The game continues the story of the half-mad fighter B.J. Blazkowicz and the Kreisau Circle fight against the Nazi that takes over America.

6. Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is Ubisoft’s current mainstay franchise at the moment. In the first Watch Dogs game, you will play as Aiden Pearce, a hacker from Ireland that can hack ctOS from his smartphone. The game is developed with the theme of information war in mind, where every country is interconnected, and when the need for technology peaked, people are asking who is the one behind the world’s computer system?

7. Red Faction Armageddon

Red Faction Armageddon’s main selling point is the total destruction of the environment. The plot of the game is about the colonies that live in Mars fighting the oppression by Earth’s forces. Red Faction always brought liberation and independence struggle against Earth Defense Force (EDF) as its theme. The struggle is more apparent if you play Guerilla.

8. Call of Duty: WWII

Next up is Call of Duty: WWII where the game is about the allied invasion in Ohama beach, Normandy, France in 1994. Here you will play as Private Ronald “Red” Daniels that join the division to fight for America. There are other characters such as Frank Aiello, Drew Stiles, Robert Zussman, and other supporting characters that come from different backgrounds to make the story more unique.

9. Battlefield V

In this game, the player will enter the world during the World War 2. You can see how the soldiers are fighting for their home country in an amazing graphic.

10. Ghost of Tsushima

The final game on this list is Ghost of Tsushima. The game is recently released for PlayStation 4 and developed by Sucker Punch. In the game, you will play as a samurai who fights to defend his hometown, Island of Tsushima from the invading Mongolians.
