Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes is one of the most well-known Musou games on PlayStation 2. Aside from the exciting gameplay, Basara 2 Heroes also features various characters adapted from the samurai(s) in the Sengoku era with a touch of additional elements that make the game unique and more fascinating. Of the many characters featured in the game, there are 10 characters in Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes who are quite popular and used so frequently by the players.

Who are those characters? Well, without further ado, let’s just get straight into it!

1. Date Masamune

Let’s start the list with the samurai who’s dubbed as the Azure Dragon. In Basara 2 Heroes, this character is one of the easiest characters to play as, yet he’s capable of slashing his way through waves of enemies with ease. Once you activate certain combos, Date Masamune can also wield his six katanas simultaneously, killing enemies at a lightning-fast speed.

2. Katakura Kojuro

Next, we have the loyal aide of Date Masamune, Katakura Kojuro. The samurai with the Yakuza looks is a character who featured on the cover of Basara 2 Heroes. Just like Date Masamune, Katakura Kojuro is also adept in using the katana, and he’s also able to combine lightning elements that can strike the entire enemies he goes up against.

3. Fuuma Kotarou

The character we often refer to as the blind ninja is an exceptionally agile character in Basara 2 Heroes. Fuuma Kotarou uses quick slashes of his daggers called “ninjato”, combined with kicks to wipe out his enemies. Aside from that, Fuuma Kotarou also strikes down his enemies using his massive shuriken.

4. Sarutobi Sasuke

Another ninja aside from Fuuma Kotarou, Sarutobi Sasuke, is also one of the most used characters by players. Sarutobi Sasuke uses dual shuriken to attack his enemies, and he also has a high attack speed since he uses a type of light weapons. Just like Fuuma Kotarou, Sarutobi Sasuke is also very agile, he can even ride the bird by doing a double jump.

5. Sanada Yukimura

Sanada Yukimura is the character who uses fiery spears. The main reason why there are a lot of gamers who love Sanada Yukimura is that this character is relatively easy to play, yet still capable of doing immense damage and successive combos on enemies.

6. Azai Nagamasa

Next on the list, we have the character who we often refer to as a Power Ranger due to his looks, Azai Nagamasa. Azai is a rather agile character, and capable of tremendous damage. Also, he can inflict damage with vast AoE and finish off multiple enemies with just a single combo.

7. Chousokabe Motochika

Of the many characters in Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, perhaps Chousokabe Motochika is the most fun character to play as due to his unique playstyle. With his huge anchor spear, Chousokabe can ride his anchor and dash through his enemies on his way.

The sheer fun from playing as Chousokabe is the main reason for his popularity among the players, and he can easily complete certain stages with the help of his massive damage and vast AoE.

8. Akechi Mitsuhide

Akechi Mitsuhide is an evil psychopathic character, perhaps even more wicked than the main antagonist himself. This character greatly enjoys seeing others suffer. In Basara 2 Heroes, Akechi Mitsuhide has a unique skill combo, which allows him to suck his enemies’ blood.

Moreover, Akechi Mitsuhide also capable of inflicting an insane amount of damage, he can instantly kill his enemies with just a single slash. Thanks to that, Akechi Mitsuhide became one of the favorite characters for many players.

9. Uesugi Kenshin

Next, we have the seemingly genderless character, as it seems unclear whether it’s a male or a female character. Regardless, Uesugi is a quite powerful character in Basara 2 Heroes with the ice element that can freeze any enemies. 

Uesugi is the obvious choice to pick when fighting against strong characters, such as Tadakatsu Honda or the robot cause Uesugi can easily hinder his movements.

10. Nouhime

Lastly, we have the lover of the main antagonist, Nouhime. This character is rather unique since she uses pistols to attack her enemies. And because it’s not a heavy weapon, Nouhime also has agile, charming moves.
