In Indonesia, Mother’s Day falls on 22 December. But om 9 May 2020 is International Mother’s Day, so as a filial son/daughter we have to celebrate the day to honor our mother. 1. Frigga

Frigga is the best mother for Thor. in Thor: The Dark World, the god of thunder lost his mother because of Kurse. Thor is too late to save Frigga. He managed to hit Malekith and Kurse. But still, he is failed to save his mother. Frigga’s death motivated Loki to help Thor, even though Loki was a villain.

After her death in The Dark World, Frigga returns in Avengers: Endgame. Using the Quantum realm to travel back in time, Thor met Frigga again. Frigga that was a mage of Asgard knows that Thor that she sees comes from the future. She doesn’t waste her time to tell Thor that she loves him.

2. Maria Stark

Not just great at singing and playing the piano, Maria Stark is the best mom for Tony. in Captain America: Civil War, we cal see that Maria Stark love and cares about Tony. when Howard Stark is too busy to spend some time with Tony, Maria tried to tell Tony to be more understanding and that his father loves him too.

3. Meredith Quill

Guardians of the Galaxy starts with a touching scene. Peter Quill lost her mother to cancer caused by Ego. at her death bed, Meredith gave Peter a gift before takes her final breath. During her life, Meredith loves Peter as much as his father. It’s not surprising that she compares Peter to his father.

4. Janet van Dyne

After being separated because of the Quantum Realm, Janet van Dyne finally get to meet her daughter, Jope. in Ant-Man, Janet was trapped in the Quantum Realm after sacrificing herself to save America. By shrinking into sub-atom, Janet successfully takes down a Soviet missile. With huge hope, Janet finally returns to her family. With the help of Scott Lang, Janet finally get to meet her daughter again.

5. Ramonda

Ramonda was the Queen of Wakanda when T’Chaka was the King. This also made her the other of T’Challa and Shuri. T’Challa always looks for her when he is facing trouble in leading Wakanda. You can see it when T’Challa was about to be crowned as the King of Wakanda.

6. Aunt May

In previous Spider-Man films, Aunt May was played by an older actress, but not in the new Spider-Man. In the film, we see a 14 years old Peter Parker and Aunt May. Besides raising Peter, the new Aunt May is the “dream” stepmother for a lot of teenagers because she understands the struggle of a teenager. Aunt May is a caring and understanding parent for Peter, she even went to drop off Peter for his date. 

7. Laura Barton

Laura Barton is a great mother. Why? She plays the role of a mother and father when Clint is on a mission. Laura has to raise her kids alone when Hawkeye is on a mission. Her maternal instinct and love toward kids are what made CLint love her, so it’s not surprising seeing Clint become depressed after the snap in Infinity War. What happens to Hawkeye is something that other Avengers don‘t have.

8. Hope Van Dyne

Janet Van Dyne’s maternal instinct also passed down to her daughter, Hope. Wasp always runs her missions with her partner. In the past, Janet wears the Wasp’s costume to accompany her husband, Hank Pym, in his Ant-Man costume. Today, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) wears the Wasp’s costume to accompany Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in his Ant-Man costume. At the end of Avengers: Endgame, we see Scott and Hope sitting down together with Cassie Lang. It seems like Hope will play the mother role for Cassie in the future.

9. Pepper Potts

Five years after Thanos’ snap, one of the many surprises in Avengers: Endgame (2019) is Morgan Stark. The daughter of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts steals the attention of the audience with her cuteness. For five years, Pepper raised Morgan well with Tony. Now, Pepper has to raise Morgan alone because Tony sacrificed himself to save the universe.

10. Maria Rambeau

Fans were confused about the friend and co-pilot of Carol Danvers. A lot of Marvel fans know that Carol’s friend is named Monica Rambeau. But in the film, her name is not Monica Rambeau but Maria Rambeau. Monica Rambeau is the daughter of Maria and she is still young. When she quit the Air Force, Mara raised her daughter alone.

In the comics, Monica is the successor of Captain Marvel. Marvel’s plan for the future is still unknown. Will Monica replace Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel?
