1. Arcane Scepter

Arcane Scepter is Aerith’s weapon that can be obtained after completing one of the two side quests; ‘Shears’ Counterattack’ or ‘Dynamite Body’. Yet it can only be obtained based on the player’s choices.

Although the magic attack from the Arcane Scepter is fairly low, the special thing about this weapon lies in its bonus. After upgrading it, Aerith will get elemental and physical damage boost with a reduction in spell cost.

2. Hardedge

Hardedge is Cloud’s weapon that can only be obtained by purchasing it on the Wall Street weapon shop in Chapter 9: ‘The Town That Never Sleeps’. Hardedge is a weapon designed to make Cloud a close-combat fighter.

Its base attack of 57 is considerably high, yet after being upgraded to its final level, its attack can reach 137. Hardedge is a weapon with the highest physical attack, capable of making Cloud an unbeatable fighter.

3. EKG Cannon

The EKG is a weapon for Barret which is available in Chapter 16: ‘The Belly of the Beast’ and can be purchased from Hart for 10,000 Gil. This hand cannon does have a rather low physical attack of just 54 at its max, yet a generous amount of magic attack of 105 at max can make Barret a solid supporting character.

Barret happens to be a long-range fighter, so, this weapon suits him really well. Not only that, but EKG Cannon also increases Barret’s defense allowing him to serve as a Tank.

4. Mythril Saber

Mythril Saber is suitable for players who want to make Cloud as the strongest mage in the party. The weapon boasts stats that are completely the opposite of Hardedge. Yup, its physical attack is really low, yet its magic attack is enormous.

This weapon is obtainable in Chapter 14: ‘In Search of Hope’ from the Weapon Store on Wall Market. In addition to its uniqueness, Mythril Saber also has the attack ability; Blade Burst which hits the opponents with a non-elemental explosion from Mako Energy.

5. Big Bertha

Big Bertha is the weapon for Barret which is available in Chapter 13: ‘A Broken World’, at the weapon dealers at Sector 6 park. If you missed it, the weapon can still be found in Chapter 14: ‘In Search of Hope’.

This particular weapon has a pretty balanced stats and boasts a high physical attack, 93. Aside from that, there’s a significant increase in HP after Big Bertha has been upgraded multiple times.

6. Feathered Gloves

Feathered Gloves are Tifa’s weapons which are obtainable in Chapter 10: ‘Rough Waters’. It can be found in a chest located under the floodgate. It provides her great speed boost with a maximum attack of 120.

7. Silver Staff

Silver Staff is a weapon for Aerith that can be obtained by trading two Moogle Medals from Moogle Emporium in Chapter 8: ‘Budding Bodyguard’. At its maximum level, Silver Attack has a magic attack of 120, which comes in handy for mages like Aerith.

Aside from that, Silver Staff also has the best MP regeneration than any other weapons, coupled with its ability, Sorcerous Storm, which can easily wipe out enemies with wide AoE.

8. Mythril Rod

Mythril Rod is often referred to as Aerith’s best weapon in the game which you can get in Train Graveyard in Chapter 11. This weapon boasts a max magic attack of 164, which can easily make Aerith as the most powerful mage.

9. Twin Stinger

Twin Stinger is the best weapon in the game for Cloud. This one has the maximum materia capacity compared to the other weapons. Plus, Twin Stinger is also equipped with the ability Counterstance which allows Cloud to counter any attacks. 

Unfortunately, it has well-rounded stats, 73 for both attack and magic. And when you upgraded it, you will get a bigger MP.

10. Purple Pain

Purple Pain is a weapon for Tifa, obtainable in Chapter 16: ‘The Belly of the Beast’ while the player is controlling Tifa. The weapon can be found in a chest accessible by the monkey bars. Its maximum attack is 82 with 66 of magic power.

There are many advantages that Tifa can get from this weapon, such as significant boosts on both her critical rate and HP. There’s also the ability, True Strike, which improves the damage of Limit Break. At level 6, this weapon also has the ability, Reprieve, allowing Tifa to survive death with 1 HP.
