Here are the various theories about Marshall D. Teach in One Piece that might be true!
Anime & Manga | 18 June
Marshall D. Teach, or better known as Kurohige (Blackbeard) is one of the most important characters in One Piece. He is the character who has the fastest growth throughout the story, from just being a crew member to being a Yonkou. There are several theories about Teach that are supposed to be true. Want to know it? Take a look at the discussion below!
1. The Biological Son of Rocks D. Xebec
In chapter 957, it is stated that Rocks D. Xebec is the most troublesome pirate in the ocean who was trying to become King of the World. At that time, he made the island of Hachinosu his headquarters. Interestingly, currently, Hachinosu is Teach's headquarters. Not only that, he named his ship the Saber of Xebec.
They also both have the name D. Suspicious, right? This is why there is a possibility that he has a relationship with Rocks at least, and the most likely being that Teach is his biological son.
2. Ate a Third Devil Fruit
Teach is the only person who has mastered two devil fruit abilities, even the Gorosei admit that Teach is the only person in history who can do that. Currently, he has obtained the strongest Paramecia power. There is a theory that he will also eat the third devil fruit, the Zoan type. It would be very interesting if Teach mastered the abilities of the three different types of devil fruits.
3. Someone Lives Within His Body
In the Enies Lobby arc, it was explained that one person can only eat one devil fruit at a time, while Teach has two different devil fruits, making it theorized that someone is living inside his body that allows him to control two devil fruit powers. It doesn't make sense if it’s the result of the Yami Yami no Mi.
Because of that, there is a theory that says that there is someone else in Teach's body that holds the Gura Gura no Mi. It was likely due to a horrific experiment that had been carried out on his body.
4. Will Come to Wano
Until now, Teach is still hunting devil fruits for his men to make his crew the strongest in the ocean. Lst time, he managed to get the Suke Suke no Mi for Shiryu. Since he already possesses powerful Logia and Paramecia, he will likely hunt the strongest Zoan.
It could be that he is after Kaido's Uo Uo no Mi because it is the strongest Mythical Zoan at the moment. Just like at Marineford, Teach may kill Kaido and steal the ability from him.
5. Can Read Poneglyphs
Not all pirates search for the treasures that Gol D. Roger left behind, but Marshall D. Teach is one of the pirates who are clearly after it. To reach Laugh Tale, it takes knowledge to be able to read the Road Poneglyph. Interestingly, in an SBS One Piece, Oda explained that Teach has a hobby of archaeologists. This is why he most likely has learned the language written on the Poneglyph to reach Laugh Tale.

6. Has a Crew from Three-Eye Tribe
Another way to be able to read the Poneglyph is with the ability possessed by the Three-Eye Tribe. So far, there has not been a pure three-eyes described in the story, but there is a mix of the three-eyes introduced in the Whole Cake Island arc, namely Pudding.
Another Three-Eye tribe man is likely Jesus Burgess of Teach's crew. This is because he is always seen wearing a mask. Maybe he hides his third eye behind his mask. If Teach can't read the Poneglyphs, then Burgess will read it for him.
7. Teach will Kill Shanks
Just like Teach, Shanks is a Yonkou who has never been shown fighting. What is certain is that he is so strong that he was able to stop the Marineford war.
Teach gives a hint that they will meet again someday and fight. Some of you might guess that Shanks died at Teach's hands. Because that's what triggers Luffy to fight against Teach later. It will also make the story much more interesting.
8. Can Absorb Haki
Yami Yami no Mi is a devil fruit that gives the user the ability to manipulate darkness. Not only can it suck objects, but there is also a theory that this ability can also suck Haki. If it is true that Teach can suck Haki, then the chances are it is the awakening of the Yami Yami no Mi. We'll see if it's true!
9. His Bounty will Surpass Roger's
We can say that Teach is one of the strongest characters in One Piece whose growth is quite terrible. His current bounty is 2.247.600,000 Belly and most likely, it will increase.
Teach might still have one more devil fruit. If it is true that he ate the strongest Zoan fruit and capable of using 3 types of devil fruits, then his bounty would be much higher. It may surpass Gol D. Roger's bounty that is known as the highest of all pirates.
10. Luffy's Last Opponent
From all the theories mentioned above, it makes sense that we call Teach Luffy's last opponent at the end of the story. The two of them would likely arrive at Laugh Tale at the same time and fight there. Another reason is that they both bear the name D.
