1. Appeared in Naruto The Last Movie
Himawari Uzumaki appeared in Naruto for the first time in Naruto The Last Movie! At the end of Naruto The Last Movie, Himawari appeared alongside Boruto for the first time, they seemed to approach Naruto outside of their house.
Despite the winter background, the scene feels heartwarming as both kids are having a snowball fight and are joined by Hinata. Naruto then told the kids that when Hinata got serious the snowball fights would get more intense.
2. Her Name Means Sunflower
The name "Himawari" is a Japanese word which literally means "sunflower". Connected to her name, Himawari Uzumaki also often places sunflowers on the grave of his uncle, Neji Hyuga.
Hinata thought that the sunflowers that Himawari gave at Neji's grave would make her uncle's spirit happy because she was always accompanied by the same flower as her nephew's name.
3. The kanji for Himawari Have Two Meanings
By accident or not, the first two kanji for Himawari can be read as “Hyuga” (日向) and can also be read as “Hinata”.
This means Himawari is named after Hinata and the Hyuga clan.
4. Masashi Kishimoto Forgot About Her Byakugan
Masashi Kishimoto, the author of Naruto, planned to give Himawari Uzumaki byakugan just like her mother, but Kishimoto forgot about her byakugan until chapter 700 of the manga.
Kishimoto then corrected the fact with Zai no Sho Shots, which tells how Himawari awakens her byakugan.
5. A Candidate for the Strongest Ninja in Konoha
Despite her young age, Himawari Uzumaki already shows some potential to be a great ninja. Boruto is afraid of her when Himawari’s byakugan first awakens, due to her unstable emotion.

6. Powerful Eyes
When activated, Himawari Uzumaki’s eyes that were blue turn white, and the veins near the temple bulge.
With her Byakugan, Himawari can see through objects and see a person’s chakra flow. The ability can help her fight in the future.
7. Great at Taijutsu from a Young Age
Besides her Byakugan, Himawari Uzumaki can subconsciously use the Gentle Fist taijutsu like most of the Hyuga clan members.
This technique allows her to inject chakra into the opponent’s tenketsu to internally damage them or manipulate their chakra.
8. The Youngest Member of Two Big Clans
Himawari Uzumaki is the youngest member of two big clans, Uzumaki and Hyuga, until the time this article is written. Using her father’s family, Himawari is a member of the clan.

9. Boruto is Scared of Her
Himawari Uzumaki’s in her enraged state scares her brother, because she can take down a Hokage. Boruto then hides in a closet. But it was all for nothing because her byakugan can see through everything.
This event made Boruto imagine that he will die because of Himawari. So Boruto promised to never anger Himawari ever again.
10. Share Similarities with Her Brother
Both Himawari and Boruto are blessed with blue eyes like Naruto and they also have whisker markings on their cheeks due to the influence of Kyubi’s chakra.
Another trait they both share is their ahoge or foolish hair on the top of their hair that looks like the stem of a leaf.
11. Himawari Uzumaki is Not a Naughty Kid
Unlike Boruto who is a troublemaker, Himawari is an obedient, cheerful, kind, and caring kid. One of the few times she misbehaves is when she steals food from her house to feed a wolf in the forest.
Himawari deeply cares for her brother, not just her biological brother Boruto, but also her adopted brother, Kawaki. The little girl always told her mom that her uncle’s spirit wants a sunflower, that’s why she always places a sunflower whenever she visits Neji’s grave.

Her brother is more childish than Himawari. Unlike Boruto, Himawari seems to be more mature despite being younger. She often helps her mother do chores around the house, making her look more mature despite being the youngest.
She wasn’t disappointed by her father when Naruto didn’t show up at her birthday and instead sends a Kage Bunshin in his stead. Himawari understands that her father is very busy.
The youngest child is also very supportive and understanding to her father due to his duty to the village, however, this doesn’t mean that Himawari didn’t miss being around Naruto.
13. Love Her parents Wholeheartedly
She loves her parents so much that Himawari Uzumaki develops a powerful bond with them. When Hinata was injured after protecting them from Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki, Himawari stood by her side and held her hands while Hinata was healed by the medical ninja.
Himawari also stood by her father’s side after Naruto was kidnapped by Jigen.
14. Have a Hard Time Controlling Her Anger
This might be something passed down from her paternal Grandmother, Kushina Uzumaki. Himawari is easy to get mad and when she explodes she will show a terrifying side.
So it’s not surprising that Boruto is afraid of Himawari after accidentally provoking her.
15. Loves Animals
Himawari's caring nature is not just directed at humans but also at animals. Himawari took care of Gisa the white wolf after being abandoned by its pack.
Himawari stole the food from her house to feed the wolf although in the end, the wolf died because of a bear.
