In the Naruto universe, there is probably no character more underappreciated than Tenten. Even during the Chunin exams, she was never a big deal and her ability to wield ninja weapons never seemed to have developed as much as other shinobi could. She's always been just a side character, nothing more.

Even so, this ninja who always dresses up in traditional Chinese dress is unique in her own way. Do you want to learn more about Tenten? Here are the 15 facts about Tenten!

1. Often Sidelined as a Rarely Highlighted Character

Sometimes a fight that is not the core of the story can help build the depth of a character, as happened in the battle of Temari vs Shikamaru. It's still a bit confusing why Tenten's fights are rarely shown.

Even though her entire shinobi team was quite powerful during the chunin exam. Temari was able to handle Tenten in a few panels in the manga rather than adding more depth to her character. It’s like she’s sidelined because she is not important at all.

2. Close to Neji Hyuga

Thanks to Naruto's influence, it was unexpected that Tenten could be so close to Neji. Of course they are on the same team. Neji is the only serious person on the Team thanks to Rock Lee and the comedian-like Might Guy.

The young man from the Hyuga clan was not a very friendly person. Making Tenten's relationship with Neji like a one-sided relationship.it’s the same case with girls who like Sasuke.

3. Proving Girls Can Be As Strong As Men

This mentality itself is not unreasonable, but it is never really put to use. Having a character like this can be cool, especially in a series where men are typically stronger than women.

Tenten's trait is that she can use any kind of weapon. She can effectively use any weapon she can get her hands on, even using Bashosen to kill one of Kakazu's hearts. Even though the weapon uses a lot of chakra.

6. Has an Excellent Fuinjutsu

Tenten stores all of her weapons in a scroll and it seems like something trivial, but it can become quite powerful when you realize that Tenten's abilities can be used for much more than that. This was something that she excels at, perhaps she was indeed the most skilled in the entire Konoha.

This style can be used to seal chakra and even living things, but it is never explained in any of its scenes. She could even keep other items as big as a boat on her scroll.

7. Opens a Weapon Shop During the Peaceful Period

Opening a weapon shop during peacetime is something that makes sense for Tenten even though the weapons may not sell well because of the lack of conflicts. This makes it like she can only focus on weapons and nothing else in her life. With the few scenes and stories she is featured in, weapons are just her hallmark.

8. Hated Ranmaru

This event took place in the Kurosuki Family Abolition arc with Raiga as the main antagonist. When they find out that Ranmaru is not only helping Raiga but also a disabled person, Tenten feels very resentful towards the boy. He hates when people can't take care of themselves, having to depend on others.

An understandable sentiment. Ranmaru was finally able to stand on his own two feet at the end of the arc, but her initial reaction was a bit harsh and unreasonable.

9. Kishimoto’s Favorite Among Konoha 11

This fact has more to do with the author than the character itself. According to Masashi Kishimoto, Tenten is his favorite character among the Konoha 11. The reason is that he likes her designs the most and you can see by how good her outfit designs are compared to Sakura's.

Favorite does not mean often shown, Ino even has more appearance than Tenten throughout the entire series. Kishimoto may have liked to draw her, but he definitely didn't like her enough to involve Tenten in various storylines.

10. Her Ability to Face Mugen Tsukuyomi

During the Fourth Shinobi War in Naruto Shippuden, Mugen Tsukuyomi is activated, causing almost the entire world to be trapped in a genjutsu that reflects their own deepest desires. Tenten points out that she only wishes Rock Lee and Might Guy to be less excited, when she talks to Neji Hyuga again.

Tenten's experience in Infinite Tsukuyomi is different from others in that she actually realized she was in a genjutsu very quickly. Maybe it was because she was holding the Sage of Six Paths tool when she was hit. As a result, Tenten tried to cast a genjutsu repeatedly, but couldn't break free.

11. Idolized Tsunade as a Child

The most common aspiration for children in shinobi villages is to become great and respected so they are chosen to lead the village. Naruto and many of his friends share the same dream of becoming Hokage, but not Tenten.

On the other hand, as a child, Tenten idolized the Legendary Sannin, especially Tsunade. She dreams of following Tsunade's path as an accomplished shinobi and medical ninja. According to the Naruto Databook, Tenten's blood type is B. Those with blood type B are said to be friendly, passionate, and creative. Of course, they can also be impatient and refuse the help of others. This female ninja has the same blood type as Choji, Ino, and also Naruto.

13. Her Team Takes the Chunin Exams with Younger Shinobi

Since Tenten and her team are part of Konoha 11, it's easy to forget that they are actually older than Rookie 9. Tenten, Rock Lee, and Neji Hyuga all graduated from the shinobi Academy a year before Naruto and the rest of his class.

The trio did not take the Chunin Exams when given the first chance. They all agreed that they wanted more time to train and become a solid team. By the time Rookie 9 was invited to take the exam, the team believed they were ready too.

14. Believed in Ghosts

When she joins Mirai Sarutobi on a mission delivering equipment, she stays at a hot spring, there are rumors of a ghost at one of their stops. 15. Fortune-telling is One of Her Hobbies

Hunting ghosts isn't Tenten's only interest. In addition to practicing and her love for weapons and hot springs, Tenten also has another hobby that is unusual according to the Naruto Databook, namely fortune-telling.

This girl likes to try reading palms or writing star charts herself, as well as trying to predict the future of others. She seems to prefer the superstitious aspect rather than the more logical aspects of the world.
