In 2020, gamers got to play several first-person shooter (FPS) games such as Valorant, Call of Duty, Doom Eternal, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There are more FPS games coming in 2021. What are they? See the list below to find out.
1. Bullets Per Minute (Awe Interactive)
Bullets Per Minute is a unique FPS game. The game developed by Awe Interaction combines FPS and rhythm-action.
In the game, the player and the enemy’s action are tied to the music beat. The enemy will perform an epic opera of attacks thanks to the beat. The player can follow the beat while attacking or dodging incoming attacks.
Bullets Per minute will be released to PC, Xbox One, and PS4. But it’s possible that the game will be released to PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.
2. Exomecha (Twistedred)
Exomecha is a game developed by Twistedred. The game was announced during Xbox Games Showcase 2020 in July. This is a mecha-themed action multiplayer game with a first-person perspective that will be released to Xbox One and Xbox Series X in 2021.
Exomecha presents an amazing FPS game experience with a flexible playstyle, full of robots, gadgets, and unique abilities.
3. Core Decay (Slipgate Ironworks)
In February 2020, Slipgate Ironworks announced their project titled Core Decay. The game is a retro FPS and tells us about a cyborg living on a dying earth. The game is inspired by the classic Doom game that was popular in the 90s. So the visual quality will be intriguing to see since it brings a classic element into the mix.
The player’s job in Core Decay is to find out about the human extinction in the cyberpunk world that is facing total destruction. It’s confirmed that there are 11 locations to be explored with an open-ended level and an unlimited solution.
4. Sin: Reloaded (Slipgate Ironworks)
Besides Core Decay, Slipgate Ironworks also announced its next project, Sin: Reloaded. This FPS was announced during Realms Deep 2020 Nightdive Studios is a remaster of the classic Sin game released in 1988 by Ritual Entertainment.
Like the classic version, the player will control Colonel John R. Blade a commander of the Security Force in Freeport. Your job is to infiltrate SinTEK’s base that is developing a biochemical weapon to take over the world with a mutant army.
Sin: Reloaded is already listed on Steam and will be released in 2021.
5. Warhammer 40.000: Darktide (Fatshark)
Warhammer 40.000: Darktide is an FPS game developed by Fatshark set in the famed Warhammer 40.000 franchise. From the title, you can guess that Darktide exists in the 40.000 world and will be packed with action.
Warhammer 40.000: Darktide will be released to Xbox Series X and PC via Steam in 2021.
6. Rise of the Triad Remastered (Apogee Software)
Rise of the Triad is a classic FPS game that was popular in 1994. The game is now redeveloped into its remastered version. Similar to Sin: Reloaded, the storyline and the gameplay of Rise of the Triad Remastered will remain the same. But with better graphics.
Rise of the Triad Remastered will be released to PC via Steam in 2021.
7. Shadow Warrior 3 (Flying Wild Hog)
In July 2020, Flying Wild Hog alongside Devolver Digital announced the new Shadow Warrior 3. The game is still centered around the adventure of Lo Wang to save the world from a monster invasion. However, the third game will present an action that is more brutal, quicker, and more exciting to play.
Shadow Warrior 3 will be released to PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2021.

8. Postal: Brain Damaged (Hyperstrange)
Postal is a classic FPS franchise that was released in 1997. Although the game is not that popular, the game is quite good. In September 2020, Hyperstrange announced Postal: Brain Damaged, a spin-off of the Postal franchise.
Postal: Brain Damaged is still in development and will be released to PC via Steam in 2021.
9. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (GSC Game World)
In May 2020, GSC Game World announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the next S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game that will retain its survival horror first-person shooter genre. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was first released in 2007 and the next title was released in 2009.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is slated to be released in 2021.
10. Witchfire (The Astronauts)
Witchfire is an FPS game developed by The Astronauts since 2015. This is a story-based FPS game with good graphics. Set in the intense dark fantasy world, the player will play as a witch hunter that will face all kinds of witches with various difficulty and arena.
Witchfire will be released to PC in 2021.
11. Call of Duty 2021 (Infinity Ward)
After releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Activision alongside Infinity Ward are reported to be developing a new Call of Duty game that will be released in 2021. Despite the news about the new CoD project, there’s no official information about the game.

12. Deathloop (Arkane Studios)
Deathloop is an FPS game developed by Arkane Studios that also worked on Dishonored and Prey. From the trailer shared, the game promises a unique story with an FPS element. In the game, there are two characters that fight each other nonstop.
If one of the characters dies, they will automatically respawn. That’s why the two characters keep on fighting and improving with each fight.
Deathloop will be released in 2021 to PC and PS5
13. Far Cry 6 (Ubisoft)
After the rumors, Ubisoft officially announced Far Cry 6 in Ubisoft Forward in July 2020. There’s not much information being shared about the sixth game, but the company said that gamers will play as Dani Rojas, a normal citizen from a country named Yara.
He is driven to protect his country from a ruthless leader named Anton Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito) and his son Diego (Anthony Gonzales), that is being prepared to take the throne in the future. This causes Yara to be in chaos and full of rebellion demanding a revolution.
Far Cry 6 will be released to PlayStation 4,x Xbox One, PC via Epic Games Store and Uplay, and Stadia on 18 February 2021.
14. Battlefield 6 (Dice/EA)
If Activision is busy preparing the new CoD game, EA alongside Dice is working on the sixth Battlefield game. Despite the circulating rumor about Battlefield 6, EA is yet to confirm anything.
Battlefield 6 is rumored to be announced in 2021 and released in the same year. So let’s wait for news.
15. Halo Infinite (343 Industries)
Xbox fans are waiting for the exclusive game that Microsoft makes, Halo Infinite. The game supposed to be released alongside the release of Xbox Series X/S in November. But Microsoft and 343 Industries decided to postpone the launch to 2021.
During a QnA session, the team explained that the postponing is done to improve the graphics features of Halo Infinite.
