Midoriya Izuku, better known as Deku is the main protagonist of Boku no Hero Academia. Yet there are some fans who argue that Togata Mirio is more deserving to be the main protagonist than Deku. What would be the reasons behind it? Let’s get straight into the discussion below!

1. Fearless

What Mirio has that Deku doesn’t, is courage. It’s true that Deku also aspires to become a pro hero and save many people, but there’s still fear within him that’s hindering his progress.

Whereas Mirio has almost no fear in his pursuit of noble mission in saving many lives. In his fight against Overhaul, he wasn’t even afraid to lose his Quirk forever in order to save Eri. Hats off for Mirio, he deserves the main protagonist role, replacing Deku.

2. U.A’s Best Student

It feels more like it when the main protagonist has a special role in his environment, like Mirio, who is one of the Top Three Students in U.A. Mirio’s also Deku’s senior who can teach him a lot of things.

In terms of strength, Mirio surpasses Deku by a mile. Mirio even managed to defeat the entire Class 1-A just by himself. From birth, Mirio has already inherited a unique ability from his parents. The mastery of his ability was indeed extremely difficult, but once he’s mastered it, he became a fearsome fighter.

3. Always Puts a Cheerful Face

In the writer’s opinion, one of the characteristics that any main protagonist needs to have is a cheerful face. For instance, take a look at Naruto, Luffy, or Asta. They often look cheerful while being burdened with a heavy task.

Deku looks gloomy more often than he looks cheerful. It makes him slightly less suitable to be the main protagonist. Whereas Mirio looks so cheerful in almost all of the time. His cheerful expression may also bring some happiness for fans.

4. More Suitable to Become the Heir to One For All

All Might has passed down All For One to Deku. In fact, prior to that, Mirio was the prime candidate to receive it. Mirio himself actually didn’t insist on getting the Quirk, yet many fans argue that he deserves it more.

If only All Might had never met Deku, surely Mirio should have had the One For All by now. In that case, even U.A’s Best Student would have the potential of becoming the best Pro Hero ever. It would be a totally different story if it was Mirio who got the One For All.

5. Good Hero Ethic

The person who inspired Mirio to become a hero was All Might. Knowing that it would be impossible to save everyone, Mirio chose the name “Lemilion” which suggests his aspiration of saving at least one million people in his entire life.

He’s also a hard worker who never complains. It’s proven by his mastery of the Quirk that’s basically near-unmasterable. Mirio also knows exactly what a hero should do in certain situations and is able to control his emotions before making a decision in battles. Wouldn’t that be the perfect trait for a protagonist?

Those were some reasons on why Togata Mirio would make a better protagonist instead of Deku. If you agree with this article, feel free to share it with your pals. And wait for other anime discussions on DuniaGames!
