Are you a gamer who relies on your home WiFi to play online games? If so, on this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you some tips on how to deal with a weak WiFi connection so that you won’t get interrupted from enjoying your favorite games. Take a look!

1. Place Your WiFi Router Properly!

To avoid a weak WiFi signal, the first thing that you need to pay attention to is where you put your WiFi router. The location where you put your router will greatly affect the signal it transmits. Therefore, you may want to put your WiFi router in the middle of the room.

Don’t put your router next to the window as it will divide your signal (towards the inside and outside of the room).

2. Keep It Away From Other Electronics!

One of the things that causes a weak WiFi signal is that your router is obstructed by other electronics. Try not to place your router near electronics as the electromagnetics will mess the signal.

You can start by making a designated place to put down your router, such as a rack on the wall to get a better signal.

3. Avoid Having Too Many Users!

Another way to solve a slow WiFi connection is by avoiding having too many users. You can create a password for your WiFi router. Make sure to have an alphanumeric password so that it’s not easily guessed by any moocher. Once you have your password, make sure not to share your password with anyone that you don’t know!

If someone still manages to get your password, you may want to change it regularly so anyone who’s been connected to your WiFi will be logged out automatically.

4. Limit the Speed For Every User

Next is by limiting the internet speed for every user. So, how do you do that? You can use a software called NetCut. NetCut can cut off users from your WiFi network or just limit them to a certain speed.

The writer would like to recommend you to just limit them and still allow others to use your WiFi network. How do you use NetCut? No worries though, because Dunia Games is here to show you the steps.

  1. Visit www.arcai.com to download NetCut;
  2. Go to the Download tab on the left, then click on "Download NetCut";
  3. Choose either Windows or macOS according to your OS;
  4. Wait for the download process to finish;
  5. Install NetCut;
  6. Once installed, you’ll be redirected to the NetCut page via a browser;
  7. On the NetCut page, you can adjust the speed for each user as shown in the image below.

While this method often works, it won’t be the case if any of the other users are also using NetCut. In other words, you can adjust the speed for a user who’s also using NetCut.

5. Get A New WiFi Router

If none of the methods above is working for you, chances are there’s something wrong with your WiFi router. So, your best bet is by getting a new one.

Well, those were the five ways to fix a slow WiFi connection. Stick around for more gaming info, and make sure to follow Dunia Games on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
