1. Play It Safe During the Early Game

Zilong is considerably weak during the early game. Therefore, Zilong mains tend to play it safe during the laning phase, until they have at least 2/3 core items. Zilong doesn't have massive damage output and has very low defense at the early stage of the game.

So, it's a good idea to play very safely near the turret and engage only when your opponent is within the reach of your turret. You have to focus on leveling up and getting lots of gold before playing aggressively.

2. Stay on EXP Lane

As a Fighter, Zilong is more suitable for being on the exp lane as he really needs to level up quickly before he can outmuscle his opponents. Once you have his Ultimate ready, then you can start roaming to help other lanes or stay on your own lane to protect the turret.

Zilong can actually play as a Jungler yet is less effective because he takes quite a long time to clear jungle creeps and it is difficult to gank early in the game.

3. Use an Attack Speed-Build

Zilong relies on his Basic Attacks to take down his opponents. Therefore, you should consider using a build that focuses on increasing his Attack Speed, so that he can dish out a decent amount of damage every second. Also, try to get lifesteal items so that Zilong can survive longer in fights.

Once Zilong's Attack Speed is high enough, he'll be making greater impacts on duels or large-scale team fights.

4. Focus on Taking Down the Opponents' Mage and/or Marksman

In team fights, Zilong has to pull off ganks to take down the opponents' Mage and/or Marksman as he can chase them down very easily. You can wait in the bush first and immediately target a passing Mage or Marksman.

If you manage to finish off the Carry of the opposing team, then you can easily win team fights.

5. Always Go For a Split Push

Zilong is a hero who excels at split pushing as he possesses a high Attack Speed. Therefore, you should always go for a split push to take down the opponents' turrets.
