After its release event on May 20, 2020, of course many things were discussed regarding the release of this MOBA game made by Indonesia. In an event held online, several important figures attended the event, one of them is Ivan Chen, Anantarupa CEO. From the event, we are able to learn several exciting facts about Lokapala that will make you want to play this game even more. What are they? Let’s check them out!

1. Lokapala Was Developed For Two Years

Getting into the first fun fact about Lokapala, it turns out that this game is developed for a quite long time, two years. This was revealed by the CEO, Ivan Chen on an interview with Mongstar.

Ivan also stated that the early stage of this game development, at least there are 30 people who worked on Lokapala which of course come from several divisions. And for now, there are around 40 people who helped in developing Lokapala.

2. Lokapala Is Taken From Sanskrit

As the title for a game that appeared suddenly, of course many gamers are wondering about the origin of name Lokapala. Well, Ivan Chen said that Lokapala is taken from Sanskrit which means “The Guardian of Realms”.

The name was chosen to describe the Ksatria (Knights) in Lokapala who are tasked to protect the realm. Of course this is the fun fact about Lokapala that you must know, right?

3. MOBA Genre Selection Because Wants to Dive into Esports

Have you ever wondering why Anantarupa must choose MOBA? Why not FPS or Fighting? Well, this question has been answered during the event with Diana Paskarina as the speaker from COO Anantarupa. 

Diana said that the MOBA genre was chosen because she wanted to compete in the esports market, and for now MOBA is one of the most popular genres among the international and local gamers.

Another reason why the MOBA was chosen was because Anantarupa was able to introduce the characters that based on national figures to the gamers, including from their own cultural background.

4. Will Focus on Android First

In the Q&A session at the release event, Diana Paskarina said that Lokapala for iOS is not available yet. The reason why Anantarupa does not launch this game for iOS is because they want to focus on Android first because there will be many features that will continue to be updated.

She also revealed that in the future Anantarupa will definitely develop Lokapala for iOS, but not in June 2020. Wow, I wonder when it will be?

5. Ready to Present Various Esports Tournaments

At the release event, Anantarupa CEO, Ivan Chen revealed that COVID-19 was not an obstacle to holding an esport tournament. In yesterday's release, Ivan Chen had prepared an online tournament scheme for Lokapala which would be called “Ksatria Pilih Tanding”, which will also be held in the near future.

And, there is another interesting fact from Lokapa, there will also be five other tournaments that also have an amazing total prize, one of which is the 2020 Youth and Sports Ministry Cup with the total prize of Rp550,000,000.
