Rivaul is one of the important characters in all of Captain Tsubasa series, especially Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002. Rivaul is nicknamed as Catalunya’s Hawk. This is explained when Tsubasa first arrived at the Catalunya main stadium. In Captain Tsubasa Dream Team, Rivaul has special skill shots called Skyhawk Shot and Golden Hawk Shot. In Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002, he also becomes the captain of Catalunya who had led his team to win the Spanish league.
2. Tsubasa’s partner as well as rival
Rivaul can be considered as Tsubasa’s partner because they are on the same team, Catalunya. But at other times, he also becomes Tsubasa’s rival because they both in the same position, attacking midfielder. Rivaul wears the jersey with the number 10 on his back, indicating that he is the ace of the team.
