The villains are usually always the roles that are ultimately defeated by the heroes. At least many movie makers take this storyline and show how the hero is a heroic figure who can do anything to defeat the villain.
But unfortunately in some moments, there are villains who manage to win the battle! That's right, in this sci-fi movie, the villain won the battle. They have extraordinary strength and intelligence so they can defeat the heroes.
Then who are they? Here's a full review for us to discuss.
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
Terminator 3 is a movie that seeks to present and maintain the extraordinary things that existed in the previous Terminator 2 that is very successful. This movie presents an extraordinary story but unfortunately ends tragically.
After T-X (Kristanna Loken) is destroyed at the movie's climax, John Connor (Nick Stahl) and Katherine Brewster (Claire Danes) arrive at what they believe to be the core of Skynet with the goal of destroying it and stopping Judgment Day.
However, they soon realized that the location was actually just a shelter, and because Skynet had spread its crimes, Judgment Day couldn't be stopped. In a disappointing ending, John and Kate hide safely when Skynet launches a nuclear catastrophe that wipes out billions of people.
Brightburn
This subversive superhero movie Brightburn is indeed very extraordinary which gives us an answer to what it would be like if the good Superman became a villain. This movie has similarities with Man of Steel but on the other hand there is a change in tone and feel in it.
Instead of being killed, a character named Brandon kills his own parents in a very gruesome way. To make matters worse, he causes a plane crash that kills everyone in the final scene of the movie. The ending credits then reveal that he started a lot of terrible things with his powers.
Cube 2
An odd sci-fi movie in which a group of people wake up in a series of interlocking cubes, most of which contain deadly traps designed to kill them. This is a very tense and gruesome scene for us to see.
In the first movie, there are those who managed to survive this deadly trap. But at the end of the second movie, it is implied that people who manage to save themselves must be shot by the terrible organization that designed this trap.
Brazil
Terry Gilliam's dystopian masterpiece, Brazil, tells low-ranking civil servant Sam Lowry as he tries to find the woman of his dreams while dealing with a hyper-bureaucratic government.
In this harrowing ending of the movie, Sam is arrested by the government and charged with treason, before being told that his lover Jill has been killed and Sam will be tortured in the near future.
At the end of the movie, even though Sam is rescued, in reality he is still in prison which makes him unable to do anything.
12 Monkeys
Not stopping in Brazil, Terry Gilliam creates extraordinary movies. He has a grim vision in 12 Monkeys of a future where a virus is released in 1996 and wipes out most of humanity, forcing the survivors to live underground.
When protagonist James Cole (Bruce Willis) is sent back in time to try and trace the origins of the virus, he is briefly told that the future cannot be changed.
So, it's a definite conclusion that Cole's death at the end of the movie actually happened. While there is a glimmer of hope for what remains of humanity, it is still a terrible victory for the creators of the virus.
