The Attacking Style of this formation is Possession Play. So, you’ll have to focus on maintaining the tempo and rely on build-up-plays rather than going route one. And, this formation also offers some flexibility as you will be able to find spaces to launch attacks.

One of the common patterns is to have the two Wing Forwards launch crosses for the Center Forward, while the midfielders dictate the tempo.

The Defensive Style for this is also Possession Play.

2. 4-2-1-3

Next up is 4-2-1-3. It looks almost similar to 4-3-3, but with 1 AMF between the other midfielders and the Center Forward.

The AMF plays a significant role in this one as he will be the playmaker. So, you will need a complete player as the AMF, with great dribbling skills, passing, and stamina.

The Attacking and Defensive Style are both Possession Play.

3. 4-2-2-2 (2 AMFs)

4-2-2-2 has a Possession Play as its Attacking Style, yet it’s different than the previous two we’ve mentioned before since it focuses on attacking from the middle. So, the midfielders will build up the attack and wait for the perfect timing to launch killer passes for the two men up front.

The main threat of this formation is when the two Forwards make one-two passes. If the defender tries to immediately go for the ball, they may end up getting passed by one of the Forwards.

Both of the Attacking and the Defensive Style for this formation are Possession Play.

4. 4-2-2-2 (LMF and RMF)

This formation is slightly different from 4-2-2-2 with the 2 AMFs. This one has more width and is more flexible. It’s usually used by high-rated players.

The LMF and RMF positions are usually reserved for players with high overall speed and great skills such as Neyrmar Jr, Messi, Gnabry.

It focuses on Possession Play and relies on the wings to build up the attack.

5. 4-3-1-2

Last but not least, is the most commonly used formation in PES 2021 Mobile.

It’s widely popular in PES Mobile as it allows new players to adapt and the attack focuses on the middle part of the pitch. In other words, it’s really easy to use.
