Sai, a member of Team 7 who replaced Sasuke Uchiha was a former member of Root Anbu of Danzo Shimura. Sai’s addition to the team was opposed by Naruto; not solely based on his ‘on your face’ and cold demeanor, but also because Naruto doesn’t want anyone to replace Sasuke’s 'position' as one of his teammates.
After learning about the close-knit bond between Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, as well as officially leaving Root after the death of Danzo, his relationships with the Konohagakure shinobis was getting better. Even in Boruto’s era, he married Ino Yamanaka, had a child named Inojin, and became the new leader of Konohagakure secret service.
Of course, being a member of Anbu and to hold the highest position in the Seventh Hokage Regime says a lot about his abilities. Let’s take a peek on his abilities based on his five strongest ink techniques!
5. Sumigasumi no Jutsu
Sai wraps himself with chakra-induced ink, thus covering his movements as if using a smoke bomb. When being used with Shunshin no Jutsu, he can sneak or escape from the battlefield without being noticed.
4. Sumi Nagashi
Instead of drawing with his ink, Sai can pour his ink, making a pool that turns into a serpent-like creature in a large number that will attack and ensnare opponents. Much like Kagemane no Jutsu of the Nara Clan.
3. Choju Giga
Sai’s main jutsu. Using the chakra-infused ink, this technique allows him to animate his drawings, which act upon Sai’s wills.
Not just used as a tool to attack opponents, Sai can also use it to communicate in a long distance. His writings can come alive like small animals and travel to his targets, after which they require a scroll to revert back into written messages. A quite versatile jutsu!
2. Koshi Tandan
A massive-sized tiger Sai draws will jump at and bite down on a target, then drag them down into the scroll; capturing and pinning them into the two-dimensions world. Despite being effective and hard to break, this fuinjutsu takes a lot of time to prepare thus it can’t be used too often.
1. Choshin Giga
An improved version of Choju Giga. Instead of drawing animals on his scroll, Sai draws two mighty, gigantic humanoids to attack opponents with a destructive force.
