Sometimes, some of the powers that exist in anime series are based on the real things in real life. And more often than not, these anime series fall into the shounen genre. On this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you a list of the five anime powers that exist in real life -- get their inspiration from real life.

So, what powers are we talking about? Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1. Alchemy, Fullmetal Alchemist

Starting at number one, we have Fullmetal Alchemist. Yup, alchemy does exist in real life -- which gave chemistry the fundamental principles. Although in real life, alchemy isn’t as practical as shown in Fullmetal Alchemist, some of the theories in this series are plausible.

Of course, there are some alchemy-related things in this anime that don’t make sense, such as bringing the dead back to life or making a Chimera.

What you can learn from this anime series is that alchemy is a law of equal exchange, which basically means that if you want to create something using alchemy, you need to release something of equal value.

2. Chakra, Naruto

Chakra in the Naruto anime series is a source of power that’s inspired by a real-life concept. Chakra is often described as a merging of the physical and spiritual energies. Whereas in the anime series, Chakra is a source of energy within one’s self to be used to manipulate life energies to pull off certain abilities.

There are seven main chakras in our body, each representing different aspects of life. When a person is born, they have all of their seven chakras opened. However, with age, these chakras will no longer as accessible as they used to be.

It is believed that one can access their chakras by meditating or practicing yoga. But of course, these chakras are different than the ones you see in Naruto.

3. Ki, Dragon Ball

In Dragon Ball, Ki is described as a power that allows its user to release a forceful energy blast. In real life, Ki (also known as chi or qi) is a life force that radiates from anything and is a part of anything in life.

In Taoism, Ki encompasses the universe across 3 cosmos realms -- Earth, Humans, and Heaven. FengShui is the art of implementing the Earth Ki, it can be practiced by adjusting spaces to collect the Ki to the benefit of your health, wealth, and luck.

Heaven Ki is basically related to the spiritual energies, which exist through prayers or chants, meditation, and rituals. Heaven Ki is often used in healing and exorcism.

As for Human Ki, it is an energy that can be acquired through practicing NeiGong/QiGong and KungFu. It can benefit one’s healing process or health. Physicians and therapists can use Qi to help heal their patients -- such as in acupuncture.

In KungFu, Ki increases one’s strength.

4. Nen, Hunter x Hunter

At number four, we have another aura or energy that exists in real life. Every living thing radiates auras or life energy. Most of the time, aura gets released from most people as they can’t see or touch it. However, trained people can control and maintain their auras, even manipulating them at their will.

The technique of manipulating aura is called Nen, and it’s divided into 4 basic categories. Ten involves controlling the flow of the aura so that it doesn’t escape from the body. Zetsu involves controlling the chain of aura in the body. Ren involves increasing the amount of aura the body produces, and Hatsu is the physical expression of aura, which is unique to each individual.

Nen is arguably similar to Chakra, in terms of its principles. You can train it by meditating, but don’t expect that you can pull off Hisoka’s Bungee Gum.

5. Quirk, Boku no Hero Academia

Do Quirks in Boku no Hero Academia exist in real life? Well, Quirk does exist in every human being, yet it’s not about fire-bending abilities and whatnot. That’s because human genetics and physics prevent us from doing so.

However, the Quirks we’re talking about is the talent that someone is born with. Each person has their own talents that they can hone.

If you are someone who can play musical instruments without having to go through long and grueling practice sessions, you might have a “Quirk” in music.
