Sung Jin-Woo, the protagonist of Solo Leveling manhwa/webtoon is indeed famous for his insurmountable strength. Not only has he conquered many Dungeons and monsters, but this S-Rank Hunter has also never lost to other Hunters in a one-on-one fight.

Until Solo Leveling chapter 155 in the manhwa, 6 Hunters had been defeated by Sung Jin-Woo.

[Warning: This article contains spoilers for the Solo Leveling manhwa up to chapter 155, but does not contain any spoilers from the novel of the same name.]

1. Hwang Dong-Suk

The group of 8 Hunters led by Hwang Dong-Suk was the first Hunter to be defeated by Sung Jin-Woo. They were trying to kill Jin-Woo and Yoo Jin-Ho and manipulated it into an accident in the dungeon.

Realizing Jin-Woo was in danger, 'System' forced him to kill Hwang Dong-Su and his group (Chapter 24). At that time, Jin-Woo had no other choice because the 'System' would kill him automatically if he failed to kill those Hunters.

2. Kang Tae-Shik

Similar to Dong-Su's case, Kang Tae-Shik also has evil intentions and wants to kill the Hunters in the Dungeon for money. He is a B-Class Hunter from the Korean Hunter Association who uses dual daggers like Jin-Woo.

Initially, Kang Tae-Shik fought against Song Chi-Yul and Lee Joo-Hee. The two of them didn't want to involve Jin-Woo in their fight because Jin-Woo was still an E-Rank Hunter at the time. The situation was getting direr, and Jin-Woo also eventually joined in the fight against Kang Tae-Shik.

Although it looks like a 3 vs 1 battle, Jin-Woo contributed the most to defeating Kang Tae-Shik (Chapter 34) with a little support from Lee-Joo Hee.

3. Kim Chul

Even though his strength is already equal to or even surpassed that of an A-Rank Hunter, Jin-Woo chooses to hide his true strength. As a result, many Hunters underestimated Jin-Woo, one of which is Kim Chul, an A-Rank Tank from the White Tiger Guild.

When trapped inside the Red Gate, Kim Chul was reluctant to take Jin-Woo because it was only considered a burden. This reason did not make Jin-Woo hold a grudge, but in the end, he ordered Igris to kill Kim Chul (Chapter 53) because he tried to stab Jin-Woo.

Next, Jin-Woo used Shadow Extraction on Kim Chul, resurrecting him as 'Iron', one of Jin-Woo's high-rank Shadows.

4. Goto Ryuji

Goto Ryuji is the strongest S-Rank Hunter in Japan who is expected to be the next National Level Hunter. He is the leader of the Draw Sword Guild that consists of 11 S-Rank Hunters.

While preparing for an expedition to Jeju Island, Goto Ryuji challenges Jin-Woo to a sparring match (Chapter 93). The battle seemed to be a draw, but at that time, Jin-Woo held back as he didn't cast out any of his Shadows.

5. Hwang Dong-Su

With the excuse of wanting to avenge his brother's death, Hwang Dong-Su repeatedly tries to challenge Sung Jin-Woo. He once came from the United States to South Korea only for Jin-Woo, although he lost badly to Jin-Woo.

Not giving up, Hwang Dong-Su again challenged Jin-Woo when Jin-Woo was visiting the United States. Thomas Andre, Hwang Dong-Su's superior, had warned him not to disturb Jin-Woo, but he ignored it.

Hwang Dong-Su and 2 other Hunters kidnapped and attacked Yoo Jin-Ho, adding to Jin-Woo's reason for not giving Hwang Dong-Su any mercy. As a result, Hwang Dong-Su died at the hands of Jin-Woo and was resurrected as a Shadow named 'Greed' (Chapter 147).

6. Thomas Andre

Thomas Andre is known as the strongest Hunter in the world. Successfully conquering Kamish, he was named 1 of 5 National Level Hunter with himself ranked first.

In contrast to other arrogant S-Rank Hunters, Thomas Andre had a high sense of solidarity and responsibility. As the leader of the Scavenger Guild, he tries to avenge the death of his member, Hwang Dong-Su, even though he knew he was wrong.

Jin-Woo's battle against Hwang Dong-Su becomes the deadliest battle between Hunters in the history of the Solo Leveling manhwa series. The two of them fought all out, even forcing Jin-Woo to summon his hundreds of Shadows.

Feeling it was impossible to beat Jin-Woo, Thomas Andre was heartened to admit defeat (Chapter 147) and felt indebted to Jin-Woo. After recovering from the post-battle wounds, he immediately apologized to Jin-Woo and gifted him the strongest pair of daggers ever, Kamish's Wrath.
