1. Son Goku - Dragon Ball

Goku is one of the strongest anime characters with a heroic spirit because he has proven to be the savior of the earth on various occasions. This alien from the Saiyan planet has managed to overcome almost every obstacle he has ever faced. Thanks to his Saiyan blood, the defeat he suffered only allowed him to become even stronger.

In Ultra Instinct mode, Goku has access to the Power of the Gods. As he began to master that power, he would only become stronger, just as he had been for the past three and a half decades. His kindness is also proven by Goku's ability to ride the kinton  which can only be used by people with the purest heart.

2. Saitama - One-Punch Man

Due to the satirical nature of One-Punch Man, it's safe to assume that Saitama's character is meant to represent the strongest anime character of all time and it's a bit difficult to dispute that statement. Unlike Goku and the heroes from other anime who are often shown to have a limit to their strength, Saitama is able to defeat his enemies using a single attack without sweating.

There may be an argument that other anime characters can grow stronger if they lived in the One-Punch Man universe. But in the end, almost all the heroes from other anime series sometimes prove to be weaker than the other characters in their respective story on several occasions. However, in Saitama's case, he has always been the strongest hero.

3. Naruto Uzumaki - Naruto

Naruto may not be as strong as some of the other popular anime protagonists out there, but his confidence can make him the strongest anime character with a heroic trait. As the Bijuu of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, Naruto has a strength to be reckoned with, especially when Naruto activates Sage Mode and Baryon Mode.

Naruto can effectively use his chakra pool, moreover he can use and combine every element while doing it. Becoming a hero for Konoha who won the Fourth Ninja War with this ability shows how strong Naruto was when he still had Kurama.

4. Giorno Giovanna - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Some might argue that Jotaro Kujo is the strongest character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Although Jotaro as the protagonist of Stardust Crusaders is very strong, he is really no match for the protagonist of Part 5, Giorno Giovanna. The Gold Experience Requiem stand was too strong, making every other stand including Star Power seem weaker.

Gold Experience Requiem can restore an event that has already occurred by repeating the flow of time. The stand can also operate independently without having to wait for Giorno's orders. This meant that if someone could fatally injure Giorno or kill him in battle, his stand would instantly revive him. Because of that Giorno became very strong and hard to beat. 

5. Eren Yeager - Attack on Titan

Although Eren appears to be the antagonist in the final season of the series, in the early seasons of Attack on Titan he was the strongest anime character with a heroic trait. The ability to mutate into an invincible fifteen-foot-tall Titan is one of his most useful powers to help many people around him. That power saved him many times throughout Attack on Titan.

He also carries the power of the Founding Titan within him, which allows him to control other Titans with someone of royal blood.

6. Vegeta - Dragon Ball

Vegeta is probably the most famous villain who turned into the strongest anime character with a heroic spirit. This Saiyan Prince had destroyed planets, killed countless people, and was responsible for the deaths of most of the fighters during the Saiyan Saga. Luckily for him, Goku tells Krillin to save Vegeta’s life after Vegeta's defeat. They became friends during the Frieza Saga, although Vegeta was still thinking of himself at the time. Vegeta is obsessed with getting stronger to beat Goku.

One thing that shows Vegeta has become a good person is his relationship with Bulma and Trunks. When he thinks Cell killed Trunks from the future, he goes berserk and attacks Cell. Vegeta's sacrifice while in the Majin Buu Saga is proof that he is a hero of the earth. It is proven that when the Dragon God revives good people, Vegeta can also come back to life because he is not considered evil even though he has previously killed many people.
