A screenshot is taken to immortalize something interesting or share it with other people. Especially for gamers who want to immortalize the special moment ASAP. Taking a screenshot on your laptop is easy.
Most people know that you can take a screenshot by pressing the Print Screen button on your keyboard. But there are other ways that are more practical or even faster. Not to mention you can take a screenshot like a gamer! Find out how in the article below!
1. Press Print Screen
Pressing Print Screen on your keyboard to take a screenshot is the most common method. It may seem easy, but unfortunately, it’s not practical.
When you press Print Screen, you screenshot the whole screen. You also cannot resize the image or take a portion of the screen. To see the result, open Paint and paste it there.
The Steps:
- Press Print Screen on the right side of your keyboard;
- The Screenshot is saved on clipboard;
- Open Paint;
- Paste the screenshot to Paint;
- You can save the screenshot now.
2. Pressing Windows key + Print Screen
Another method of taking a screenshot is by pressing the Windows key and Print Screen together. The Windows key is located at the bottom left of your keyboard, between the Ctrl key and the Alt key.
Like the first method, here you will take a screenshot of the whole screen, but it’s more practical as you don’t need to open Paint because the screenshot is immediately saved to your Picture folder.
The Steps:
- Pres and hold the Windows key then press Print Screen;
- The screen will blink;
- Open the Picture folder;
- You will find the screenshot in that folder.
3. Pressing Alt Key + Print Screen
The third method you can use to take a screen is by pressing the Alt key and Print Screen at the same time. This will capture the screen from the active app on your screen. If you are running Google Chrome and press the Alt key + Print Screen, the screenshot will only show the Google Chrome window.
The Steps:
- Press the Alt key and hold, then press Print Screen;
- The screenshot is saved on clipboard;
- Open Paint;
- Paste the picture to Paint;
- Save the screenshot.
4. Snipping Tool
This method uses a program called Snipping Tool. This program is pre-installed in Windows 10 so there’s no need to download the program. The app is light and practical.
With Snipping Tool, you can capture any part of your screen and resize it.
The Steps:
- Open Snipping Tool;
- Press New on the Snipping Tool window;
- Click on the screen where you want to capture and drag your mouse to adjust the size;
- The result will appear and you can save it.
5. Xbox Game Bar
The next method is for gamers. Windows 10 got Xbox Game Bar to help gamers that love to capture a moment or record when the play for content need or live streaming.
Press the Windows key + G on your keyboard to open Xbox Game Bar.
The Steps:
- In-game, press the Windows key + G;
- Xbox Game Bar appears and click on the camera symbol on the Capture window;

6. In-Game Shortcut
Most games today come with a screenshot feature. The result is awesome because the game itself captures what is being shown. But, you have to know the screenshot quickie because each game got a different setting.
The screenshot is saved directly to your Picture folder or any folder depending on the game. So it’s important that you check the screenshot shortcut settings of the games you are playing.
