Gamers from the 80s and 90s had played older generation consoles that were popular. Before we see consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the 80s and 90s gamers played older generation consoles where graphics were nothing close to what we got today, yet the gameplay of the games were as fun and great. Some of the console makers, started to revive the older generation consoles to meet the request of veteran gamers who are not adults. Besides being collectible items, the older generation consoles are supposed to retain the fun and exciting gameplay from the past.

1. Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition
NES Classic Edition was last sold in November 2016 and became the most popular item during the holiday season that year. The console got a feature that can transform the display on your TV into CRT with 4:3 format. Gamers can enjoy 30 games installed in the mini console.
2. Mini Famicom Classic Edition
Nintendo Japan also released a classic NES console called Mini Nintendo Family Computer. The console is similar to NES, but it was released outside of Japan so Nintendo decided to change the design and name so it didn’t sound like a toy. Mini Famicom got the same design as the classic Famicom but smaller. The characteristic of Famicon is the controller that can be placed on the sides of the consoles.
3. SNES Classic Edition
After the NES Classic Edition, Nintendo also released the SNES Classic Edition to replace the NES Classic Edition that was released last year. The Super NES Classic Edition got 21 games from famous developers installed in the mini console. You get two controllers for every purchase and it comes with an HDMI cable and a mini USB adaptor.

4. Ataribox
If you are born in the 80s, then you are familiar with the gaming console from Atari. The console was more popular than NES but unfortunately the game is not as interesting so it failed to compete in the market. Now Atari revived its console with the name Ataribox. Besides bringing back some of its classic games, Ataribox got the features of a modern console such as streaming, social media, web browser, video/music player, and many more.
5. Mini Comodore 64
Similar to NES Classic Edition and SNES Classic Edition, Commodore finally revives its classic console called Commoder 64 in mini design and new features. The console got a unique design since it’s a computer complete with a keyboard. Additionally, the console got 64 games and allows the user to run the BASIC program to developm a program or game and store it. Unfortunately. No one knows when the mini version is going to be released.
6. Neo Geo Mini
Last 2018, SNK release Neo Geo Mini. The mini console got popular classic games such as Metal Slug, Samurai Showdown, and King of Fighters. The difference between Neo Geo Mini and other retro Nintendo consoles is the buil-int 3,5inch display that make the console look like a miniature arcade unit. Although it’s designed tobe a handheld, you can connect the console to your TV or monitor with an HDMI cable.
7. Sega Genesis Mini
Not wanting to be left behind by its competitor Nintendo, Sega also released Sega Genesis Mini. the mini console is the first retro console from Sega after they sold their license to a third party producer, AtGames. Like other classic consoles, Sega Genesis Mini got a cartridge slot where you place the 16 bit game cassette. Sega retains the original button layout as the original. The games included in this retro consoles are Sonic The Hedgehog, Earthworm Jim, Gunstar Heroes, Ecco the Dolpin, Street of Rage 2, and many more.
