7 Superheroes Whose Superpower Came from Radiation
Normal humans will die when they are exposed to radiation. But these 7 comic book characters obtained a superpower!

Anything can happen in the world of comic books. In the real world, anyone exposed to radiation, be it from a nuclear or foreign object, will suffer from an illness or worse, die. But in a comic book, instead of dying, people will unlock a superpower! Like these 7 superheroes!
1. Hulk
Working as a nuclear scientist made Dr. bruce Banner prone to being exposed to nuclear radiation. Unfortunately, that did happen during a nuclear bomb field test. Bruce tried to save a kid stranded inside the test area, making him exposed to the explosion and radiation.
Surprisingly, Bruce survived but Bruce was exposed to Gamma radiation and he obtained a superpower. He can transform into a powerful figure named Hulk. Unfortunately, Bruce has no control over Hulk’s action, meaning he is a whole different person when he transformed into Hulk.
2. Fantastic Four
A group of scientists led by Dr. Reed Richards got the opportunity to explore space. Living in space has the same risk as being a nuclear scientist, there are many unknown foreign objects that may harm your body.
When their rocket was wandering in space, they are exposed to cosmic radiation. The radiation doesn’t weaken the group, instead, Reed Richard’s body can stretch and expand, Ben Grimm’s body (The Thing) turned into rock, Susan Storm (Invisible Woman) can turn invincible, and Johny Storm (Human Torch) can light up his body in flames.

3. Captain Atom
Nathaniel Christopher Adam was framed and punished with a horrible punishment. To avoid punishment, he decided to participate in an experiment that is just as horrible.
He is placed together with an unknown foreign metal that was tested by having a nuclear exploded on top of him. A normal human would die in this situation, but not Nate. he was thrown two decades into the future and unlock a superpower. The foreign metal is infused with his body making his body appear to be metallic thanks to the exposure of the foreign metal.
4. Firestorm
The character is quite unique. Firestorm is a superhero a result of a combination of two individuals named Ronnie Raymond and Jason Rush. one day, he brought a flask containing God Particle. Because of a terrorist attack, the flask break and exposes the God Particle to Ronnie and Jason.
The two can transform into a powerful figure named Firestorm. The superpower of this character is related to particle manipulation and they can fly and manipulate fire.
5. Dr. Manhattan
Like Bruce, Dr. Jon Osterman worked as a scientist in a lab that worked with nuclear. One day, Jon was trapped inside a room during a radioactive particle test. His body was decimated to the molecular level. But somehow, Jon managed to materialize his body until he became Dr. Manhattan.
Dr. Manhattan is all mighty, so he can’t be called a superhuman, but rather, a god. He is immortal, can’t be killed, and can manipulate energy and matter or create a new living organism. He can manipulate time and time travel, he can see what happens in the past, present, and future.
6. Negative Man
If you follow the Doom Patrol series, then you are familiar with Negative Man. His real name is Larry Trainor. He is a test pilot in the US Air Force. He obtained his superpower when he is testing a plane named X-19, Larry managed to break past Earth’s atmosphere. But thanks to Niles Caulder’s, or The Chief, plan, the plane’s navigation system broke and fly pass a deadly field in space.
Although he survived, Larry knew that there was something wrong in his body, his body is deformed and radiates deadly radiation. He has to wear a special bandage to seal the radiation coming out of his body. Negative Man can transform his boy into an astral projection but the downside is that his real body will lose consciousness and he can only use the power for one minute.
7. Spider-Man
Spider-Man is the most famous superhero from Marvel who obtained his superpower from radiation exposure. He obtained his superpower after being bitten by a spider who is exposed to radiation too. So basically Peter suffered from radiation poisoning from the spider bite. The poison then spread out all over his body and causes a significant change. All of Peter’s senses are enhanced and his physical strength increases, not to mention he can climb walls like a spider.
