Silver Rayleigh, also known as Dark King, is the former Vice-Captain of the Roger Pirates, led by the deceased Gol D Roger. In his prime, Rayleigh's fighting ability was feared by his opponents, including the Marines. As he gets older, his strength slowly decreased. Nevertheless, he still a man who should not be underestimated. Here are Marines who might match Silver Rayleigh!

1. Fujitora

Issho, also known for his epithet Fujitora, is a Marine Admiral who possesses Zushi Zushi no Mi powers. Zushi means the sound of stomps, not to be confused with Shiki's gravitational ability. With this devil fruit’s power in his repertoire, Fujitora can apply immense pressure to the opponents as if they being stomped. This answered the attack he had executed on Zoro and the pirates at the Dressrosa gambling house.

Uniquely, Zushi Zushi no Mi can stomp on or apply heavy pressure to the opponent. Somehow, Issho was also able to blow away the large debris from the buildings on Dressrosa. His sword fighting skills are also on the same level as Rayleigh.

2. Kizaru

Borsalino, or better feared by the name Kizaru, is a Marine Admiral who possesses the Pika Pika no Mi powers, a Logia-type devil fruit that allows him to manipulate and become light. Aside from being able to attack using light, Kizaru is also immune to physical attacks thanks to his devil fruit.

Kizaru's fighting prowess is something that shouldn’t be underestimated. He can even fight to a tie against Rayleigh back in the Sabaody arc.

3. Akainu

Compared to Ace's fire attacks, Akainu's magma power in which he gained after eating Magu Magu no Mi, is more terrifying. This devil fruit can make the user a magma man, as Akainu can generate and manipulate magma at his own will. Not only that, but he’s also immune to any kinds of physical attacks.

The man whose real name is Sakazuki had killed the descendant of the Pirate King, Portgas D.Ace, eradicating the bloodline. After the time skip, Sakazuki was later promoted to Fleet Admiral. In his prime, his strength could match Silver Rayleigh.

4. Aokiji

Kuzan, also known as Aokiji, is a former Navy Admiral who has the power of the Hie Hie no Mi, a devil fruit that can generate ice. This Logia-type devil fruit grants him the ability to the user to make and manipulate ice to his command. The only thing that can damage the user is Haki, and his natural weakness.

Back in the Punk Hazard arc, Aokiji was able to intimidate Doflamingo, who was about to kill Smoker. This showed Aokiji's level of strength that can rival a Shichibukai, let alone a legend like Rayleigh.

5. Ryokugyu

This figure is the only Marine Admiral who is shrouded in mystery. His close relationship with Fujitora shows that he also has a true vision of justice. A fact about him is that he hasn't eaten or drank for three years. We can assume that his strength is above the charts.

There is a theory that one of Ryokugyu's abilities is photosynthesis. That's why he can live without eating or drinking for years. He may become Sabo's opponent at Reverie. We hope Oda can show his abilities someday.

6. Sengoku

Daibutsu, or Giant Gold Buddha, is an ability of the former Marine Fleet Admiral, Sengoku. Many people think that this ability is included as a Paramecia type, but the truth, it’s Mythical Zoan. As long as the user can transform, it will be categorized as a Zoan, including Sengoku himself.

His ability, called Buddha’s Palm, is similar to that of in Kungfu Hustle movie, where the main character (played by Stephen Chow) unleashed a technique where his palm become Buddha’s palm at the end of the movie. This ability is seen at the Battle of the Marineford. Up until today, Sengoku is still one of the strongest members of the Marines.

7. Monkey D. Garp

Garp is known as the Marine Hero since he was young due to his merit for taking down the legendary pirate Rocks D. Xebec. This old man is still active as a Marine even though he should have retired. Due to his strength and merit for his services, Garp could have become an Admiral, but he rejects it because he doesn’t want to be an ally of Tenryuubito.

Garp's strength is monstrous because he is known as the true rival of the deceased Pirate King, Gol D. Roger. If the Pirate King's strength is equal to him, then Garp would also be able to fight against the vice-captain, Rayleigh, even could win against him.

8. Kong

Kong is a man who serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the World Government and was served as a Fleet Admiral of the Maries 24 years ago before Sengoku took place, during the execution of Gol D. Roger to be precise. Looking at his muscles and skins covered in scars, Kong may be one of the strongest fighters of the Marines.

Its strength is still unknown. Some fans theorize that Kong's strength is the Kingkong Zoan, based on his name.
