1. Gear Fourth

During the Enies Lobby arc, Luffy shocked fans by showing his latest technique, Gear Second and Gear Third. After this technique is shown, fans assumed that there’s more technique that Luffy mastered. After a few years, the theory became true in chapter 784 when Luffy used Gear Fourth for the first time.

There were plenty of theories that stated what the new moves look like on Luffy, like the increasing muscle power and using his body limbs to increase his power and speed. Fans also predicted that there'll be other types of Gear Fourth that are seen in Whole Cake Island arc.

2. Sabo Is Still Alive

In the middle of the Marineford Arc, it showed the flashback of three brothers; Luffy, Ace, and Sabo. When Sabo just sailed the sea, Sabo was attacked by Tenryubito and presumed died. Interestingly, Oda left a clue that Sabo is still alive as stated on an SBS column that showed the theory about Sabo is still alive.

The clue that was corrected by Oda was in chapter 589 when Dragon brought a boy to his ship. This once shocked fans because the kid was presumably Sabo. This theory later proved true in chapter 731 when Sabo reappeared himself to Luffy.

3. Sanji’s Identity

One of the oldest theories in One Piece that talked by fans was Sanji’s real identity. After years, some theories said that Sanji is a prince. This because he used an alias “Mr. Prince” during the Arabasta arc.

Not only that, but his blood type also rare as well as “ONLY ALIVE” on his wanted poster also strengthen the theory. It was later revealed in chapter 812 that Sanji is the third son of the Vinsmoke Family who ruled the Germa Kingdom.

4. Kin’emon Travels Through Time

When Kin’emon and Momonosuke’s identity revealed at Zou arc, Momonosuke stated that he once met Gol D. Roger. From this sentence, fans speculated that they have been traveled through time.

This later confirmed in the Wano arc, exactly in chapter 919 where Kin’emon stated to Luffy about his real identity who, along with other Oden’s guardians, traveled the time to 20 years in the future.

5. Sanji’s Raid Suit

At the end of Whole Cake Island, Sanji was given Raid Suit by Niji. Even though Sanji stated that didn’t want to wear it, in the end, he wears the suit. Instead of thinking whether Sanji wears it or not, but fans curious about what powers are stored in Raid Suit.

Many theories stated that Sanji will have the ability to become invisible, as he wanted since little. In chapter 931, finally, Sanji later wears the suit under the name O-Soba Mask. The suit gave him invisibility, similar to Sube Sube no Mi.

6. Wano Country Is Above the Sea

When the Straw Hats arrived in Wano, Sunny Go climbed a few waterfalls even though drowned in the end. Despite the result, Luffy stranded at the Kuri coast, the same thing also happened on Big Mom after attacked by King when her ship attempted to climb waterfalls.

A few fans predicted that Wano is located inside the mountain or above the sea with a secret entrance. This theory later proved true in chapter 954, exactly when Kin’emon stated the geographical location of Wano country.

7. Big Mom Came to Wano

One of the biggest predictions among fans during the Wano arc was Big Mom’s involvement. After Luffy gave a bad influence on his reputation. It’s not strange if Big Mom even wanted to chase him to the corner of the earth. 

In chapter 907, Big Mom told Kaido that she would come to Wano, and didn’t mind the warnings. Her statement supports the theory. In chapter 930, Big Mom started to enter Wano.

8. Shirohige Was in Rocks Pirates

During the Reverie arc, Garp stated that the Rocks Pirate was the strongest pirate crew 40 years ago. It was told that they were pirates who conquered the seas at that time. There was a hint that Big Mom and Kaido were a part of the crew. Interestingly, Marco stated that Shirohige once sailed on another pirate crew 40 years in the past.

It took no time for fans to realize that Shirohige also part of the crew. In chapter 957, Sengoku finally explained the history of Rocks Pirates, including Shirohige as one of its crews.
