For the FFWS SEA 2026 Spring competition, RRQ Kazu is introducing a new player from their Academy team, RRQ Academy, named Ranz. The young star, developed by team coach Adi "Adyy" Gustiawan, has already competed with the team in two pre-season competitions: the Free Fire Battle Rush (FFBR) and the Free Fire Nusantara Series (FFNS), making Ranz fully qualified to compete in the SEA with RRQ Kazu.
Previously, several players who have played for RRQ Kazu have not been entirely successful. From Azriel to Kibaa to Ikall, their journeys with RRQ Kazu have not found significant success. In various competitions such as the FFWS SEA 2025 Spring & Fall Season, the Free Fire Esports World Cup, and the FFWS Global Finals 2025, "almost" is not enough for RRQ Kazu. A breakthrough is needed to re-establish the reputation of the King of Kings in the competitive Free Fire scene.
Ranz Completes RRQ Kazu's Ammunition for FFWS SEA 2026 Spring, Breaking the King's "Weak Point" Stigma!
Exclusively speaking to Dunia Games (DG), RRQ Kazu's coach, Coach Adyy, explained his team's preparations for FFWS SEA 2026 Spring. He mentioned that several preseason competitions, such as the Free Fire Battle Rush (FFBR) and the Free Fire Nusantara Series (FFNS), were instrumental in RRQ Kazu's preparation, particularly in preparing their young star, Ranz. "We've been trying to prepare our team since the beginning of the year, using trial and error. So, in Free Fire Battle Rush, we're focusing more on developing our players, specifically Ranz," Coach Adyy told Dunia Games (DG).
"We had the idea that Ranz would move up to SEA, so in the Free Fire Battle Rush and Free Fire Nusantara Series, we tried to prepare Ranz to become much more mature. We also focused on preparing several players, like MaaL, Abaay, Dutzz, and 18Deer, to make them more comfortable while playing and to maintain their health," he said. Coach Adyy further added that Ranz's presence was based on the team's performance in previous seasons.
Compared to the previous five RRQ Kazu players, according to Coach Adyy, there was one strategy that was difficult for them to execute. However, he considered Ranz the right player to implement the strategy he intended. "From the previous rosters, what's important to emphasize is that they tended to play aggressively as the first rusher to take down opponents without engaging in crucial defense. So, we changed their playstyle to become tankers, where they don't need to engage in combat, just initiate engagements and allow their teammates behind to clear areas," Coach Adyy added.
"The adaptation process was a bit complicated and difficult compared to the players we had before—Azriel, Kibaa, Ikall, and so on—because those were the basic skills only Razor possessed at the time," he explained. "This season, Lorenz and I are trying to change that. RRQ is strong at defense but tends to be weak on offense. This season, with Ranz's arrival, we're changing that stigma, where the forward's movements are much more aggressive than the second and third players, and even the last player. We're trying to transform him into a multi-role and multi-position sniper," he explained.
Ranz Becomes Coach Adyy's Investment for RRQ Kazu's Future
Coach Adyy emphasized the importance of increasing RRQ Kazu's offensive power. He believes that RRQ Kazu has been perceived as a team that only capitalizes on momentum to secure wins. Coach Adyy believes that if RRQ doesn't have the momentum or position to win, then the players must think and strive to create momentum and find the right position to outplay their opponents. Coach Adyy once again emphasized that Ranz fits these criteria.
"So, unpredictable battle movements will make things difficult for the opposing team. Ranz's entry is a new element to change the previous stigma of RRQ, where RRQ (liked) to play defensively, strong defensively, but when engaging in battle, they needed good positioning to win," Coach Adyy explained. "With the current roster, we're changing that stigma; we're building momentum and creating momentum. Don't have a position? We create one."
"Therefore, for this season and next, Ranz is one of the players on the roster who could potentially shift RRQ's previous gameplay from defensive to offensive." Finally, Coach Adyy stated that he had evaluated Ranz's performance in several preseason competitions. He believes Ranz has developed rapidly, distinguishing him from the other RRQ Academy players, creating a power imbalance.
"The level difference between Ranz and the RRQ Academy players is quite significant. Even though Ranz joined RRQ Kazu after only a few months of playing in FFCM and FFBRS, his progress has been significant. This significant development creates a gap between Ranz and the Academy players, making the matches less balanced," he concluded.
