Indonesian horror movies will get a new twist with Pemandi Jenazah, starring Aghniny Haque, star of Qorin and KKN di Desa Penari. The movie directed by Hadrah Daeng Ratu, who has been successful with previous works such as Perjanjian Gaib and Sijjin, is expected to create a new trend in the country's horror movie scene.

The story of Pemandi Jenazah follows the journey of a girl named Lela, the daughter of Mrs. Siti, who works as a corpse bath attendant in her hometown. Lela's initially peaceful life takes a mysterious turn after her mother passes away. In her task of bathing her own mother's corpse, Lela encounters irregularities in each corpse and vows to uncover the hidden mystery.

In an interview with Dunia Games, Aghniny Haque and Ruth Marini, the two leads of Pemandi Jenazah, shared their unique experiences during the filming process. One of the interesting moments was when Aghniny Haque felt "grabbed" by spirits, which she described as a hot sensation caused by a patch. "It felt like there was a sudden heat in my back, as if I had put a patch on it," said Aghniny Haque.

The two also revealed that the cast was deliberately kept in the dark about the gruesome happenings on set, including the fact that the grave digging scene took place next to a real grave. Although the house where the filming took place was known to be empty and haunted, the producers chose to keep the fact that a tragic real death had taken place there a secret.

Aghniny Haque expressed her interest in the movie because of the interesting director and screenplay. Although filming took place in a location that does have a mystical aura, Aghniny Haque and Ruth Marini still gave optimal performances to bring Pemandi Jenazah into a different Indonesian horror movie.
