Alice in Borderland Season 3 finally gets an official release date along with its first teaser, unveiling the dark atmosphere and deadly games that made this Japanese series a global phenomenon. The third season is set to premiere worldwide on Netflix on Thursday, September 25, 2025, continuing the story of Arisu and Usagi after the shocking ending of the previous season.

The latest season picks up after Arisu (played by Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) return to the real world. Now living peacefully as a married couple, their calm life is shattered by a series of hallucinations and disturbing visions. When Usagi mysteriously vanishes after encountering Ryuji (Kento Kaku), a researcher obsessed with the afterlife, Arisu is pulled back into the deadly game.

The tension rises when Banda (Hayato Isomura) reveals the final card: Joker. This card introduces a new phase of the game known as the “Joker Stage”, taking the Borderland to even darker and more complex territory.

Returning and New Cast Members

In addition to Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, returning cast members include Hayato Isomura, Ayaka Miyoshi, and Katsuya Maiguma. New characters will be played by Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Koji Ohkura, Kotaro Daigo, Risa Sudou, Tina Tamashiro, Hyunri, and Kento Kaku.

Directed once again by Shinsuke Sato, who also co-wrote the script with Yasuko Kuramitsu, the series is produced by Robot Studio with technical support from The Seven. The cinematography and production design teams from previous seasons return to maintain the signature suspenseful tone of the series.

Since its debut in 2020, Alice in Borderland has become one of Netflix Japan’s most-watched titles. The second season, released in December 2022, significantly boosted the series’ global popularity.
