The December issue of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine revealed that Kotono Kato's Altair: A Record of Battles (Shokoku no Altair) manga will soon end in the next issue which will be published on November 25th 2023. The Altair: A Record of Battles manga is entering its arc. finally after releasing the 25th compiled volume in March 2022.

Kodansha USA Publishing has digitally published the Altair: A Record of Battles manga in English and describes the story as follows:

For generations, the Turkiye Devleti and the Balt-Rhine Empire stood in tense conflict. However, one night, when an imperial minister is found murdered, the two countries are caught in a situation that could potentially lead to war!

When the generals of the Turkiye council call for war, Mahmut discovers the evil truth behind the killings! Thus, the young pasha's battle for his country, peace, and trust in fellow humans begins!

Kotono Kato began the Altair: A Record of Battles manga series in Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2007. The manga inspired an anime series adaptation that premiered in July 2017. Amazon Prime Video broadcasts the anime.

The series also inspired a four-panel manga entitled Shokoku no! on the official Sirius website in 2012. The magazine also published a spin off manga entitled Shokoku no Altair-san (Altair of the Tiny Nation) by Shiina Soga from 2012 to 2013.

The main manga also inspired Hirokazu Kobayashi and Chika Kato's spin off manga, Shokoku no Altair Gaiden: Tokoku no Subaru (Subaru of the Island Nation), which debuted in Monthly Shonen Sirius in January 2016, and ended in its seventh volume in September 2019. With the end of this story, fans will soon find out how this epic story will end, whether it is a bad ending or a good ending.
