The potential of Skylar to comeback

Skylar making a comeback to RRQ as an active player has been something some fans have eagerly awaited. His capabilities have never been in doubt, especially since he has become one of the most iconic figures of RRQ Hoshi in recent seasons.
For multiple seasons, Skylar has been regarded as the team’s carry. He has grown with RRQ from the ground up—from being underestimated to shining as one of the league’s brightest stars.
His peak has arrived during Season 14, when Skylar has served as team captain and has led the younger players to the MPL ID Grand Final and even the M6 World Championship. While they haven’t won the title, the achievement has still been remarkable, especially considering Skylar has been the only veteran on the roster.
Coming into this season, doubts have surfaced about RRQ. With Skylar opting to take a break, many fans have questioned whether RRQ could survive without their veteran leader. His replacement, Toyy, has initially been underestimated—until he has proven himself and silenced the critics.
Skylar, meanwhile, has remained active on livestreams. Ironically, RRQ has been thriving in his absence, even leading the standings through Week 4 of MPL ID Season 15.
They have emerged as the strongest team so far this season and have even reached the grand final of ESL Mobile Masters, though they have fallen to ONIC PH.
This success has raised a tricky question: what if Skylar had made a comeback? Would Toyy—who has performed excellently—be replaced? Or would Skylar’s return simply never happen?
Vyn Weighs In on the Possibility of a Skylar Comeback
Several livestream moments have hinted that Skylar has been considering a return. Even Mas Ade has often teased him about making a comeback, especially in light of Toyy’s recent performances.
Vyn, Skylar’s former teammate and senior at RRQ, has shared his thoughts on the matter. According to him, if Skylar were to return, it shouldn’t be to RRQ—because he might not get the consistent playtime he deserves.
"If Skylar comes back, he deserves a starting spot—wherever that is. If he returns to RRQ, it would be a waste if he has to rotate," Vyn has said during a livestream.
"It’s not guaranteed that he’d get the main spot again. It’d be a shame, especially given everything he’s already accomplished. Unless… well, you never know," he has added.
Skylar’s future has become a hot topic. Will he return to the pro scene—or remain on the sidelines? We’ll just have to wait and see.
