Cells at Work! Receives a Live Action Adaptation!

Kodansha and Flag Pictures announced a Cell at Work! live-action adaptation. Hideki Takeuchi serves as the director, while Yuichi Tokunaga serves as the story writer. Yuichi has worked on stories from several live-action series like Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Liar x Liar, and Princess Jellyfish.

Cell at Work! is a manga by Akane Shimizu which was released in March 2015 and ended in January 2021. Meanwhile, the anime began airing in July 2018 followed by a second season in January 2021. This anime tells the story of cells that work within the human body.

The manga is also getting a spin-off titled Cells at Work! CodeBlack. Kodansha USA released other spin-offs from this manga, including Cells at Work Bacteria!, Cells at Work! Neo Bacteria!, Cells at Work! White Brigade, Cells at Work! Baby, Cells NOT at Work!, Cells at Work! Code Black, Cells at Work and Friends!, and Cells at Work Platelets! The latest spin-off is Cells at Work! Lady that ended in September 2022.
