Kodansha announced that Tsubasa Yamaguchi's Blue Period will receive a Stage Play adaptation. The play will be shown at The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo from March 25, 2022, to April 3, 2022.

Sourced from the Blue Period Stage Play website, the drama features Kurumu Okamiya as Yatora Yaguchi. Other cast members include Natsuki Saki as Yotasuke Takahashi, Shogo Tazuru as Haruka Hashida, Karin Takahashi as Maki Kuwana and Asumi Kikuchi as Maru Mori. 

There is also Sayaka Okamura as Masako Saeki, Yuta Tachibana as Koigakubo, Hayato as Utashima, Ikuma Miyagi as Sumida and Dai Hosho as Mayu Oba. Kaori Miura is directing the play and Masafumi Hata is writing the script. 

Kodansha Comics is publishing the Blue Period manga in English. An anime adaptation was released on Netflix in Japan on September 25, 2021, before premiering on October 1, 2021, on Japanese television. Netflix began publishing the anime outside of Japan on October 9, 2021, with new episodes released every week. 

Yamaguchi published Blue Period in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in June 2017. Kodansha published the 11th volume of Blue Period on September 22, 2021. Kodansha Comics published the fourth volume of Blue Period in English on August 17, 2021. 

Blue Period won the 13th Manga Taisho award in 2020, and was also nominated for the award the previous year.
