Before the release of Granblue Fantasy Relink in February 2024, Cygames made several episodes of the anime Granblue Fantasy: The Animation that can be streamed for free on YouTube. Fans can watch the anime on the Japanese or English version of the Granblue Fantasy channel.

The anime consists of two seasons. The first was released in 2017, while the second was released in 2019. Of the 12 episodes and 2 extra episodes in the first season, only the first 7 episodes can be watched for free from this promotion. Not only English or Japanese subtitles, fans can also choose other languages; French, German, Portuguese, or Spanish.
