The anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man is probably one of the best recent series. This series boasts a long list of unique characters and a compelling storyline. Chainsaw Man is currently in its first season and there are several other anime that you can watch while waiting for the latest episodes to be released.

On this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you a list of the best anime that share the same style or story as Chainsaw Man. Without further ado, let's get into it.

1. Shingeki no Kyojin

One of the anime series that has been consistently good since its debut, Attack on Titan began as a show where humanity has been living inside large walled cities to protect themselves from the man-eating Titans.

Eren Yeager and his friends join the Survey Corps to try and help retake his hometown. Eren Yeager's goal is to take revenge and kill all the Titans.

This anime doesn't only have a great storyline, but it also has great character developments. Shingeki no Kyojin is a pretty dark anime — much like Chainsaw Man.

2. Kabaneri Of The Iron Fortress

This anime tells about a post-apocalyptic world with fantasy and steampunk elements. During the Industrial Revolution, a mysterious virus infects humans, turning most of them into zombie-like creatures called kabane.

Kabane are protected by a layer of iron and most weapons are ineffective against them. Ikoma, an engineer, has invented a weapon that can penetrate their skin but is bitten in the process.

He is able to keep himself from being completely infected and turns into a kabane-human hybrid. He and a group of survivors set out on a journey to find safety, battling hordes of kabane along the way.

3. Jujutsu Kaisen

One of the most popular anime and manga today, this series follows a high school student named Yuji Itadori. His school is attacked by a creature known as the Curse.

In order to save his friends, he swallowed a cursed talisman that looked like a rotting finger. He is possessed by a known Curse and helps defeat the Curse but at the cost of losing control of himself.

Jujutsu Kaisen has instantly established itself as one of the best shounen anime. The series has great character developments and has become very iconic with some equally good supporting characters.

The story has the perfect mix of supernatural elements, suspense, and some tragic moments that will play with the audience's emotions.

4. Parasyte

Parasyte tells the story of a high school student named Shinichi Izumi who lives his life peacefully until an alien-like creature attacks his body. The parasite settled on his right arm and Shinichi named him Migi.

This anime is full of action, has a great storyline and character development that will keep you entertained. There's even some philosophical discussions mixed in as Shinichi and Migi have a conversation about human nature and survival, which makes it even more interesting to watch.

5. Dororo

A fantasy anime that starts off pretty dark with the character Hyakkimaru, a ronin in the Sengoku period. Hyakkimaru, who was born without limbs, internal organs, and facial features, was taken by a demon who made a pact with his father. He was abandoned as a baby and a man named Jukai found him and made him a prosthetic leg using healing magic and alchemy.

While not quite as dark as Chainsaw Man, Dororo has its dark and disturbing moments. Discovering Hyakkimaru's past before he was discovered might be disturbing for some viewers, but it's a great show for anyone looking to be introduced to the dark fantasy genre.

6. Tokyo Ghoul

Tokyo Ghoul is an anime that is definitely not for the faint of heart. After his date tries to eat him, Ken Kaneki's life turns upside down as he turns into a Ghoul, a creature that feeds on human flesh to live. Even though he's technically a half-Ghoul, he joins a group of Ghouls who teach him how to blend in and learn things about the Ghouls.

This anime is considered to be one of the darkest anime series that came out in the 2010s. It can be so gorey at times that it can make some viewers a little nauseous.

7. Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied is one of the most emotional anime that came out in the early 2000s that helped pave the way for dark fantasy and horror anime into the mainstream.

The anime revolves around Lucy, a young woman who is Diclonius: a creature that looks like a human but with short horns protruding on her head and powers that take the form of invisible arms called vectors.

8. No Guns Life

An anime that already looks visually similar to Chainsaw Man, No Guns Life sets in a world where most humans become cyborgs known as "Extended".

Many of the Extendeds, who were soldiers in the great war that had just ended, commit crimes in order to survive. The anime follows Juzo Inui, an Extended with no memory of his past, and working as a mercenary to solve the problems caused by the Extendeds. One day, an Extended traitor he is looking for, breaks into his office and asks him to protect the boy he kidnapped.

At the beginning of the series, Clare travels with Teresa, a Claymore who serves as her mother figure.

10. Junji Ito Collection

When we think of Junji Ito's works, horror is definitely one of the first things that come to our minds. This anime is an anthology animated by Junji Ito. Each episode is different from the previous one and there is no storyline to follow.

Most of the scenes will surely make some viewers cringe and look away from the screen. Whereas some other scenes might make viewers laugh at how too over-the-top the horror is. Nonetheless, this anime would make a great introduction to the work of Junji Ito, who is renowned for horrors.

11. Another

One of the most popular horror anime, Another tells the story of a high school student named Kouichi Sakakibara, who gets transferred to a new school. He notices that something is amiss with his class, especially his classmate, Mei Misaki.

He then learns about the curse placed on his class and tries to find out more about it. Students and even people around such as family members or school staff are at high risk of being killed by the curse just because their lives are intertwined with Kouichi and his class.

For anyone looking for a murder mystery with some horror elements, this anime is a must-watch. This story has many plots and twists that keep viewers watching to see what happens next.

12. Devilman

Devilman centers around Akira Fudo, who is possessed by the demon Amon. Although Amon is known as one of the strongest demons ever, Akira is able to control him, thanks to his pure soul. Together, they become Devilman and attempt to stop the demons from terrorizing humanity.

13. Witch Hunter Robin

It's an anime that may not be as scary and bloody as most other dark fantasy anime series on this list, but this one is still interesting to watch. Robin is a 15 year old girl who works for a secret organization that hunts witches. She is also a witch and uses her powers to do her job.

Throughout the series, Robin begins to question whether what she is doing is right and whether the organization she works for will one day hunt her down. There's not an overabundance of violence, but the story builds a pretty good psychological thriller. A must-watch anime for anyone who likes action with supernatural elements.

14. Dorehodoro

A post-apocalyptic anime about a man named Caiman, who has the head of a lizard and has no recollection of his past life after being transformed by a mage.

Caiman and his friend Nikaido set out to find the mage responsible for this. They attract attention for their violent attacks on mages.

The animations and designs of the backgrounds and characters are unique compared to most anime. All of the characters have unique designs, just like the characters in Chainsaw Man.

15. Blood+

The prequel to the popular horror anime Blood-C, Blood+ is one of the darkest anime of its time. Saya Otonashi is a seemingly-normal high school girl who has no memory of her past.

She is attacked by a mysterious creature that feeds on human blood and learns that she is the only one capable of defeating them. Saya embarks on a journey to defeat these mysterious creatures and find out more about her past, which may be much darker than she thought.
