The official website for the anime based on Reiji Miyajima's Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) manga announced that the third season will premiere in the Super Animeism block on MBS, TBS, and 26 other affiliates in July 2023. The website also revealed a new visual and anime staff for Rent-A-Girlfriend season 3.

Shinya Une (Rent-A-Girlfriend episode director) is replacing Kazuomi Koga to direct the new season at TMS Entertainment (in partnership with Studio Comet). Mitsutaka Hirota (Anime-Gataris, Nanbaka, The Prince of Tennis II) is returning to the project to write the scripts for the anime series Rent-A-Girlfriend season 3.

Kanna Hirayama is back designing the characters. HYADAIN returned to compose the music. Also returning from previous projects are sound director Hajime Takakuwa, art director Minoru Akiba, color key artist Fumiko Ishiguro, photography composition director Shintaro Sakai , and editor Yumiko Nakaba.

Previously the second season of Rent-A-Girlfriend premiered in July 2022. The first anime season premiered on the Animeism programming block in July 2020 and aired for 12 episodes.

Reiji Miyajima serialized the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in July 2017. The manga's 30th compiled book volume shipped on Friday, February 10, 2023. Kodansha USA Publishing is also publishing the manga in English. The manga is also inspiring a live action series that premieres in July 2022.
