Dewa United Esports has emerged as one of the most surprising teams in MPL ID Season 15. Despite not being heavily spotlighted and being considered a squad with a standard composition, they have proven to be competitive.

With three wins and four losses, their record isn’t bad, especially considering three other teams are in a similar position. Meanwhile, the four teams above them are only one win ahead, holding a 4-3 record.

Despite not having star-studded names, Dewa has shown they can compete. Even debutants like Maybee and well-executed transfers like Rezz have elevated the team to a respectable level.

One unique differentiator is that Dewa United has become the first Indonesian team in MPL history to field a full Indonesian roster while being coached by two Filipino trainers.

Typically, teams with Filipino coaches also have at least one Filipino player. However, Dewa breaks that trend.

Bombi and Kurt have been working exceptionally well, with additional support from Watt. So far, the chemistry between the two nationalities has been smooth and effective.

But does communication between the two PH coaches and the Indonesian players pose any challenges?

Dunia Games exclusively asked Watt about this matter. He revealed that there is no communication gap at all between the Filipino coaches and the Indonesian players in the team.

"Actually, they (the PH coaches), especially Kurt, are already fluent in Indonesian. He may not be able to speak it perfectly yet, but he understands everything when listening," Watt explained exclusively.

"Communicating with them is very easy. We frequently share ideas and ask for input. It’s not just the coaches making all the decisions—we always discuss things together with the players," he added.

It will be interesting to see how Dewa United Esports performs in the remaining regular season. Simply qualifying for the playoffs would already be a significant achievement, especially since no one favored them at the start of this season.
