WOWOW revealed the teaser of Ao Haru Ride live action season 2. The teaser reveals a new cast, and will premiere on January 19th 2024 with 6 episodes. Sakurazaka46 member Karin Fujiyoshi is playing as Yui Narumi, the main character.

The first season of Ao Haru Ride aired on September 22nd 2023 with a total of 8 episodes. The story focuses on Futaba, a girl who falls in love with a boy she went to middle school with, Ko Tanaka. Due to a misunderstanding, their relationship as friends ended after Tanaka transferred to another school.

In high school, Futaba reunites with Ko who changes his name to Ko Mabuchi. The nature of the two has also changed drastically since they last met. Futaba, who used to be feminine, became a bit tomboyish due to the association with her friends. Meanwhile, Ko's family who often quarreled made her a tough person.
