Bit is a term that we often encounter in matters relating to digital technology, including games in it. Bits or binary digits themselves are actually unit names, just as you know the unit of millimeters, centimeters, grams, kilograms, and so forth. Maybe you are more familiar with the terms byte (B), kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB), to terabytes (TB). Then where is the bit position? Bit is the most basic and smallest unit so that its position is below the byte (B) earlier. 1 byte (B) consists of 8 units of bits. It's clearer right now?

Bits themselves are binary numbers with bases 1 and 0 as you often see in hacker films; for example, the line 10101010, where the hacker is trying to find loopholes in the security system. Then what is the relation of this bit to a game? In playing a game, there are certainly many digital transformation processes in it, both video and audio. The more data that is processed, of course the greater the bits that move. The greater the bits that move, automatically the quality of the video and audio produced will be better.

If you are still confused, you can look back at the development of graphic quality from old game consoles to the most modern ones today. Nintendo (NES) with 8 bits, MegaDrive / Genesis and SNES 16 bits, PlayStation and Dreamcast 32 bits, and so on. The graphic difference from the consoles above is clearly felt. 2D graphics on the Nintendo (NES) and MegaDrive / Genesis consoles have been turned into 3D on the PlayStation and Dreamcast consoles. On the Playstation 4 3D graphics had become increasingly detailed and smooth approaching reality. However, good graphics quality is not only influenced by the console or device, but also the software used to develop the game in question.

This is what we often encounter in games on smartphone devices. As information for all of you, most of the chipsets available on today's smartphones are capable of processing data up to 64 bits. If it's up to 64 bits, why doesn't it look as good as on the console? There are quite a number of influential factors, one of which is the speed of the smartphone chip processor which is still far behind the console chip. Yes, the graphics can be the same, but the frames per second (FPS) that appear are so low that they are really not worth playing!

Instead of developing games with slick graphics quality, there are still many developers who focus on the gameplay of a game for smartphone devices. It is also not to blame because there are so many variations of smartphones in the world, ranging from the low-end to the high-end. They will be more happy if the game made is user friendly and can be played smoothly on a variety of different smartphones. Certainly not the case with console devices that have only one basic variant. Developers can focus on developing the game as closely as possible, according to the maximum capabilities of the console.

Now, you choose which side? Games with low bits but the gameplay is interesting and can be played on various devices, or games with high bits but can only be played on certain devices?
