Ubisoft finally officially announced Assassin's Creed Shadows through its first trailer. The game is scheduled for release on November 14, 2024, and will be available on various platforms including PS5, Xbox Series, PC (Ubisoft Store and Epic Games Store), Mac, and Amazon Luna. Gameplay details will be revealed at the Ubiforward event in June.

Setting and Development

Assassin's Creed Shadows was developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the team that previously successfully developed Assassin's Creed Odyssey. This game takes players to 16th century Japan which is experiencing instability due to the influx of foreign influence. Players will explore this historically rich past through two main characters.

Two Main Characters

Assassin's Creed Shadows features two main characters: Naoe, a Shinobi from Iga Province, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai adapted from Japanese legend. Players can choose and master two different but complementary playing styles. Naoe is skilled at sneaking and using hidden weapons, while Yasuke excels in direct combat with his skill with a katana.

Features and Gameplay

Players can build a spy network to open new areas and hunt down their targets. The game also allows players to recruit allies with special abilities and train them. In addition, players can create and customize bases, from the layout to the decorations and accessories.

Assassin's Creed Shadows offers an open world with various landscapes and changing weather and seasons. Players can explore cities, castles, temples, and harbors. To bring this world to life, Ubisoft Quebec uses the Anvil engine.

Editions and Collections

Ubisoft has prepared four editions of Assassin's Creed Shadows: Standard Edition, Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, and The Collector's Edition.
