EVOS’ blunders have resurfaced, costing them another crucial win. The same issues that had plagued them back in Week 4—and led to two consecutive losses—have reappeared in Week 5.

Many believed EVOS had recovered after their impressive 2-0 victory over ONIC Esports. However, against Bigetron (BTR), at a moment when they actually had a clear chance to secure victory, a critical blunder had occurred.

It proved fatal, and EVOS had suffered a painful comeback defeat because of it. A victory that had practically been in their hands vanished in an instant.

At that point, EVOS had been one step away from destroying the enemy base and could have simply waited for the next Lord to increase their pushing power.

Instead, they had forced an end, resulting in three players being killed due to BTR’s Novaria and Moskov, who had cleared waves quickly and had dealt massive area damage.

From that moment on, EVOS had started to lose their direction. Things got even worse when Moreno, using Novaria, had successfully stolen the Lord, leading BTR to complete their comeback and defeat EVOS.

EVOS' Blunder Problems Have Persisted

If there’s one major issue EVOS must urgently fix, it is their tendency toward overhype and critical mistakes—both at the team and individual levels.

Aville addressed this problem during the post-match MPL ID interview after EVOS’ 2-1 loss to BTR. He admitted that the mindset of players and the viewers can differ greatly.

He understood that most spectators would logically think EVOS should have simply waited for the Lord. However, for the players on stage, the situation might have felt different.

"The hype between backstage and onstage is certainly different. Logically, yes, you just wait for Lord and it’s done. But maybe for the players, the hype felt different," Aville explained.

"We lost like last week too—slipping on the high ground again. But hopefully, we can bounce back from these kinds of mistakes," he added, his face clearly showing his disappointment over the result.

Despite the painful defeat, EVOS have finished Week 5 still in third place. They have benefited from favorable results in other matches, which have helped maintain their standings.

However, if they continue repeating the same mistakes, EVOS may soon find themselves in real danger of missing the playoffs—because other teams are surely learning and adapting.
