Kaido Defeated Luffy

Many have predicted that Luffy will defeat Kaido—as the main character always wins against his enemy. However, for the second time, Luffy lost against Kaido. This is due to the interference from agent CP0 who suddenly appeared during Luffy and Kaido's decisive attack. Luffy also received Kaido's attack very badly.

Not only that, the narration in the manga also officially declares that this battle is won by Kaido. Despite winning, Kaido doesn't seem happy at all...

CP0 Member Killed by Kaido

Kaido was not happy that his fight was interrupted. The fight he had enjoyed so much since fighting Oden had to be interrupted again by a third party. Knowing that the CP0 agent is a person who interferes with his fight, Kaido punishes the CP0 agent.

After defeating Luffy and the nameless CP0 agent, Kaido descends to the inside of Onigashima and declares victory. He also stated that Luffy had died at his hands. This news certainly lowers the mentality of the Straw Hat Pirates alliance. Nami and Chopper can't seem to accept the news that Luffy has been killed and defeated.

Joy Boy's Resurrection

The cowardly Momonosuke is about to give up because Luffy has been defeated by Kaido. But he was encouraged by Yamato not to give up because it was much better if they died in battle than surrender and become Kaido's slave for life.
