Konami has officially renamed Pro Evolution Soccer or PES to eFootball. This change marks a new chapter for the Japanese game developer to change many things, including being released for free to play and can be played across platforms such as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, iOs and Android towards the end of 2021.

Unfortunately, this eFootball announcement also raises a lot of questions. One of them is the classic modes that have always accompanied PES fans. For example, what is the fate of Master League and Become a Legends modes? These two modes are the favorite modes in PES.

Responding to gamers' concerns about changing PES to eFootball, Konami via their twitter account revealed that the Master League mode will still be present in eFootball later. However, slightly different from PES, gamers who want to try Master League must buy it separately or come in Downloadable Content (DLC) format.

“In addition, offline modes such as Master League will be sold in the future as optional DLC on all compatible devices,” wrote the @play_eFootball account.

However, there is no further information on what the Master League mode will look like when it’s released later. Will it be the same as Master League in PES 2021 or Konami has done a lot of work to improve this mode, which is now sold separately.

Master League itself is a mode that has existed in PES since 1999 which invites gamers to build a football club to become the greatest. There are two options for starting the Master League, either by building a completely new team with fictitious players, or choosing clubs that are indeed available in PES.

In managing the club, you also have the right to determine the purchase and sale of players. This is what makes Master League mode so popular. We seem to be able to feel as a coach who determines the tactics and the chosen players.

In PES 2021, even the Master League mode is getting closer and closer to being realistic. Konami introduces the Interaction Dialogue System. That is, the journey of a career in this mode will be very dependent on every decision we take. For example, answering questions at press conferences and communicating with the club’s board of directors.

If the fate of Master League has been announced as a DLC of the eFootball game, it’s different with another offline mode, namely Become a Legends. So far, there is no update on whether the Become a Legends mode will still be available in eFootball or if it has been removed forever.

If so, it is possible that the Become a Legends mode will also be sold separately from the eFootball game. For sure, you need to wait until the end of August when Konami releases the latest info about eFootball.

Become a Legends itself is a mode in PES that invites gamers to become a superstar figure in the world of football. Unlike the Master League which manages clubs, in Become a Legends you will be an ameteur footballer who pursues a career in small clubs.

The more often you play well, the more likely you are to be recruited by big clubs. Until finally, the player you play becomes a legend with many trophies.
