Seong Gi-Hun

He is the main protagonist in this series. At first, Seong Gi-Hun is a very temperamental gambler who needs a lot of money to pay off his debts plus get custody of his child.

In this series he was extraordinary, where actually Seong Gi-Hun doesn't have any skills. But with his determination and ingenuity, he can always escape the dangerous game that lies ahead. He is also a very loyal friend and cares about those who share the same fate with him.

Cho Sang-Woo

He is a childhood friend of genius Seong Gi-Hun. In the neighborhood where he lived, he is a proud prestigious university graduate and working in a bona fide place. Unfortunately a case of theft of money led him into this dangerous game.

He has extensive knowledge, sharp thinking, and does not hesitate to collaborate with anyone. He also does not hesitate to betray his comrades even though sometimes he looks very caring

Kang Sae-Byeok

Kang Sae-Byeok is one of the characters who has the intention to get her mother and entire family out of North Korea so they can create a happy life for her younger brother who is in an orphanage in Seoul.

She is very skilled at pickpocketing and knows very well how to use a knife. Her hand speed, dexterity, and wide curiosity are the skills that allow her to last quite a long time in this game.

Han Mi-Nyeo

Han Mi-Nyeo was originally a scared woman in this game and became the one who wanted to come back and get out of that dangerous game. But then she came back and became a very, very intelligent character! She commits a lot of fraud where her cheats are rarely known by the supervisors.

Han Mi-Nyeo's character pattern is a bit like a mad or depressed person who is willing to do anything to win. Even at the beginning of the story she managed to join the gang of delinquents in an elegant way.

Hwang Jun-Hoo

After following a lead he believed could lead him to his missing brother, Seoul police officer, Hwang Jun-Hoo tried but failed to get more leads from Gi-hun. This prompts Jun-ho to disguise himself as one of the game-managing staff to take a closer look at this gruesome game activity.

He is very good at disguise and is one of the most influential people in the excitement in the storyline.
