In Fate/Grand Order (FGO), having a strong DPS servant is not enough to complete the battle, players also need a strong Support Servant as the key to victory in many battles, whether story, farming, or Challenge Quest. Meta Support is a Servant with the ability to improve the performance of the entire team, especially in terms of damage, NP generation, or survivability. Below is a complete discussion about them.

Meta Supports are Servants that can be used in many team compositions, not only because they are strong, but also because they allow certain strategies to run optimally. They usually have:

• Skill NP charge (can fill team/member NP)
  
  
• Big buffs for damage, NP gain, or survivability like guts, defense up and invincible
  
  
• NP that provides strong support effects (buff/charge/heal/debuff enemies)
  
  

FGO has 3 types of card attacks: Buster, Arts, and Quick. Each has its own Support Meta. For the buster card itself, there are 3 servants with SSR rarity that fall into the Meta support category, namely:

1. Merlin (SSR, Caster)

• Skill: Buster buff, Crit buff, NP charge 20%
  
  
• NP: Heal HP per turn + NP per turn + debuff immunity
  
  
• Uses: Crit Buster Team and Challenge Quest
  
  
• Often combined with: Buster DPS (example: Gilgamesh, Arjuna Alter)
  
  

2. Oberon (SSR, Pretender)

• Skill: NP charge besar (20%-70%), NP Damage buff
  
  
• Skill 3: Team debuff but makes NP looping so it's possible in the last wave
  
  
• Use: Final wave nuking in 3-turn farming
  
  
• Common combination: DPS Buster + Koyanskaya Double + Oberon
  
  

3. Koyanskaya of Light (SSR, Caster)

• Skill: Buster buff, NP charge 50% to one Servant
  
  
• NP: Gives debuff effect to enemy, cooldown reduction
  
  
• Strategy: Double Koyan + DPS Buster + Oberon 3-turn farming without loops
  
  

For Support Meta buster, it does emphasize more on the power and consistency of NP charge from Koyanskaya and Oberon's skills which can provide 100% NP DPSS every turn. Meanwhile, Merlin is often brought on quests that require his survivability skills which can provide protection for 1 turn and heal per turn.

The most frequently used setup in Meta Support buster is 1 DPS, 2 Koyanskaya and finally oberon in the back row which will be exchanged in wave 3 using mystic code. This Meta buster is very suitable for completing quests that have a small number of enemies because there is no need to prioritize NP gain from NP unlike Meta art.

This Meta Support Buster is indeed very strong but has 1 drawback where all of its meta supports are limited servants whose banners rarely appear and its DPS Buster servants are also mostly limited servants such as Arjuna Alter, Morgan, Melusine and so on.
