10. Destiny
Real name Irene Adler, this mutant in the comics is a best friend of shapeshifting mutant, Mystique. Irene is a mutant who was born in the 1900s and has the power to see the future, even though this mutant cannot avoid death.
Destiny also a stepmother of X-Men member, Rogue. Even though in the comics she’s already dead, but Irene still has a role by giving a book about future prophecies.
9. Mystique
This mutant is the most recognizable character in the X-Men series due to her unique appearance (blue skin and red hair). Real named Raven Darkholme and born at the same time as Destiny at the beginning of the 1900s. She has the power to shapeshift her body shape, voice mimicry, and overall physical shapeshifting to her liking.
This character turns out to have two children, Graydon Creed (her son with Sabretooth) and Nightcrawler (her son with Azazel). Even though he has mutant parents, turns out Graydon is an average human.
In the movies, Raven is told to have the same age as Professor X, but in the comics, she was born far earlier than Charles Xavier.

Exodus, real named Bennet du Paris. In the beginning, this medieval knight doesn’t realize his mutant potentials inside him. The mutation later comes out when triggered by Apocalypse’s appearance.
Apocalypse wants to make Bennet his servant. But he makes a mistake and makes Exodus trapped in a parallel time dimension. Years later, Magneto becomes the one that saved him.
He later becomes the most powerful mutant with various astonishing abilities like an eternity and resurrecting a deceased person.
4. Crule
This mutant is a member of a rare eternal mutant and named External. Crule was born in the first century (before year 100) up to the 4th century (year 300s).
Crule’s vicious appearance is making him as the craziest and meanest mutant among ancient warriors. Even though at that time, the continent has yet to have a name, but Crule was considered originated from north Africa.
3. Apocalypse
Even though called (in the movie) recognized as the first mutant, it turns out Apocalypse is not the oldest in this list. Apocalypse is a mutant who was born in 3000 years Before Christ (BC).
The power of this mutant called En Sabah Nur is unparalleled. The amount of superpowers that Apocalypse has is insurmountable. He even can give powers or increasing other mutant’s power.
In one of the comics, Apocalypse managed to rule the world; due to a mistake made by Legion, the son of Professor X who time-traveled to the past and wanted to kill Magneto. Unfortunately, Legion instead murdered his father and make Apocalypse rule the world in the future.
2. Saul
This mutant has a real name called Garbha-Hsien. Similar to Crule, he is a member of the eternal mutant named External. In a group filled with ancient mutants, Saul even considered the oldest.
Saul has the power to live eternally and various magical powers, including teleportation. It’s unclear when this mutant was born, but he admitted that he already existed before Apocalypse. Even when the continent is yet to scatter, Saul is already old.
1. Seleene
This character, named Seleene Gallio, is a mutant with a power akin to a vampire. He is also a nemesis of Kulan Gath, a magician who lives at the same age as Conan the Barbarian.
Selene is the oldest mutant that exists in the Marvel universe. This mutant was born 17.000 years ago or 15.000 years Before Christ. During that time, Selene keeps wandering and observing the changes that occurred in the world.
